I did do a search for a topic but could not find one.

What i am after is a list of great SNES games

Platform
Puzzle
Sim ( like Theme Park)

being my favorites or anything else you think i should be playing.

My tips for you guys Pop N Twinbee it works MINT on the GP32 and Turtles Tornament Fighters is also good for a quick burst and is just about playable.

Platform:

Umihara Kawase - one of the best platformers ever; it features awesome grappling hook physics, such that you are able to pull off unbelievable moves with practice.

Dynamite Headdy - an excellent action/platformer from Treasure, makers of Gunstar Heroes.

Puzzle:

Bust-A-Move - classic gamesplay, sweet music.

Puyo Puyo - a nice diversion.

I hope you enjoy these games.

Fair, but not brilliant, iirc for R-Type 3. Though I can't say I've played it for long enough to be certain... its a game thats too hard for me...

It's the sort of game to make you break your SNES Controller back then... Ah, the days. But it's the challenge that keeps me playing. :D

if you want to try an awesome shoot em up for SNES, try Earth Defense Force. GREAT GREAT GAME

Cheers guys.

I have downloaded all the suggested games apart from R-Type as i have that on PC Engine so decided to give it a miss.

I have only had the chance to play Goof Troop and i was not that impressed. I know Bust A Move and Puyo Puyo very well so i know i will enjoy those.

R-type on PCE is different than the Snes versions (but you probably know this). great games!

my favorite SNES shooter (favorite SNES game!) = Space Megaforce. It plays pretty well on the emus, still kind of slow but loads of fun.. looking fwd to trying out on the new one.

(yes.. I know.. "space megaforce" terrible name, but who cares..)

How does kirby's avalance run? That's an exellent version of puyo pop I think. And hook was an awesome platformer/action game!

I'm not a real big fan of SNES games, especially these genres because publishered crapped out so many second-rate games, but here goes:

Platform:
Blackthorne, Tiny Toon Adventures, Super Castlevania IV

Puzzle:
Bombuzal/Kablooey

Strategy:
Actraiser, Sim City

And for shoot-em-ups, I wouldn't go past Gradius 3 or the 3 Parodius games (Parodius/Parodius Da!, Gokujou Parodius, Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius).

Kirby's Avalanche was better than Puyo Pop because it had the added stupid value of Kirby saying extremely nasty things like "I'll breathe in your pathetic bombs and send them back at you!", or (to the apple tree thingy while stepping on its roots with an evil look on his face) "I feel like some apple pie!". Um, other than that, I hate Puyo Puyo games myself, sorry :p

Why is it that no one mentioned super metriod as best platformer???? are you people sick??
