I mounted all my mtd block devices and tried to du (yes, very stupid, /mnt/mtd5/mnt/mtd5/mnt/mtd5...). du stopped responding, but i could still see what i was typing while it was (not) running. I telnetted in a second time and tried to kill the du process. No luck. kill -9. Still running. At this point everything still worked fine from the second shell and from the GUI, just that one du process was stuck. So I rebooted. Big mistake. Now the GP2X power light comes on, but I get nothing on the screen at all and no audio. Help?

1st prize in the cathegory "creatively killing a gp2x" goes to you!

Sorry mate, can`t help you, if you get nothing on the screen on power on, you should be outta luck, the unbricking guide won`t help.
Mentioning batteries is a last chance here, but I think you have thought of that yourself...

Ooo-er, you've fucked the firmware. U-boot should actually be OK though, not sure why you don't get any video. Try a reflash, and if that doesn't work, your only hope is JTAG.

No, I claim first for doing this last December :).

But half credit to Sterm, without which I couldn't have tried to mount my NAND :).

JTAG to the rescue! My BoB arrived and I reflashed the bootloader. Got to the black boot screen, start+select let me do a boot image upgrade, but that didnt get me any farther. I put the entire firmware package on a SD and did start+select boot again, now I get startup sound and the green screen but no farther. I do NOT get to see 'reformatting NAND' etc as I expected. Any tips?
