I've been wanting to play some soccer on my GP2x, and since I can get my GNGeo2x to run full speed, I decided the Neo Geo would be the best platform. I checked NeoRage and there are a bunch of soccer games, but the Super Sidekick series are supposed to be the best. So I looked around and I downloaded the third one, because I didn't realize until yesterday that Super Sidekicks 4 is actually called Ultimate 11. Anyway, I downloaded the game and tried it out. Looked good, until I got in game and the field isn't there. It's really what looks like the bleachers. Now I just downloaded the fourth of the series, hoping it was just that game, but the same thing happens for this one. Is it a bad dump? Is anyone else having this problem? If it's supposed to happen, how do you fix this?

I don't want to be stuck with Tecmo World Soccer '96 as my best option.

Your best option is of course Sensible Soccer International edition via DrMD. :) As for your problem, I experienced it as well with a couple of NeoGeo football games, so you're not alone there.

Alex, I'm mainly looking for a soccer that's a good pick up and play game, something on the lines of Baseball Stars 2. Since it's an arcade game, I thought it would be my best bet. After playing it though, it's not as good as I thought it would be and it's not running too well. How good is that Sensible Soccer game?

Whisk, what do you mean?

And mth, I just tried it, and it worked. However the framerate dropped a lot, the sound won't go down, and there are glitchy lines on the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to fix that, or is that what raster does?

Thanks for the help.

Cool, will try it out.

EDIT: Tried it out and it's the first time I've used the DrMD emulator and I've got some questions on it. I'm playing it and there are these short black lines that flash a couple times every second and also when someone scores, the goal sign gets sorta glitchy and there are more lines. Can I fix this using the emu, or do I have to tweak the settings?

It's a result of Squidge's MMU-hack being inserted. Reesy is working on ironing that out. If it annoys you, try using the previous beta:

(use the DrMDv5b3.gpe file, not DrMD.gpe [that's beta 2, with incompatible save states]).

Does that raster option slow down the game much?
With raster on, all the rendering is done in C, so yes, it slowdown the emulation.
