Is It Time

I don't care how many people will ignore me. They will be the ones missing out on my GP32 GCS. You all go ahead and play your games made by Nintendo and Sega while I work on a program that is specifically suited for a handheld like a GP32.

I kinda like your attitude, don't be so silly ;)

I respect your opinions, but maybe you should try a GP2X before you judge it.

Why turn your back to video games history (emulation), when you can embrace and learn from it in your future homebrew endeavours?

Because I never look back at things. Looking back at things does not make any progress, it's just revisiting something that has already been done.

Every football message board needs that one guy posting constantly about how terrible a sport football is. I think it's a law.

That's like a painter saying s/he won't look at any of Monet's paintings, a film student refusing to watch Citizen Kane, or a budding rock guitarist purposely avoiding ever hearing Smoke on the Water.

Any human creation is built upon the generations preceding it. That is how we progress as a species, and is our greatest defining asset. If we had to re-invent the wheel every few years, we'd get nowhere.

Besides that, y'know, there's a little thing of just having a lot of fun playing old games?

When you create something, it's from your own mind, not someone else's in the past.

So JaqMs, you think that by re-creating something of the past , one degrades him / herself ? ...

Weak point.

If you think that all that exists now would exist now without the input of the past...

You know what a platformer is ?

Know how it was invented ?

Know who invented it ?

Know why it's a platformer ?, or even named a platformer ?

...

Make something new ( HEY, WHO SAID THAT IT HAD TO BE NAMED A GAME?, YOU MAY NAME IT A WOBBLER ) , your own creation, not based on anything else, and then maybe you'll be right. ( I used game and Wobbler as an example, a feeble one, I know, it is why I... )

/ Goes behind curtain before anyone sees him !!!

I still like your attitude though

Dude, you have problems, jaqms. Because, if everyone just totally forgot our past achievements, what would happen? No matter how terrible, we can't forget it, for fear of it happening agian. Would you want another holocaust?

The whole genre of Hip-Hop is a ways of looking at the past. DJs (real ones, not the guys who do Bar Mitzvahs) take old albums and remix them to create an entirely new song. The whole art of sampling is based off of building from other's creations.

How about collages? Are you saying that Picasso's creations in his later years weren't art because he didn't make them from scratch? Adapting something can be as great as skill as creating it.

Abominations, I tell you. It makes me gringe, everytime I hear a "mix" of an 80's song I used to love... Ought to be taken to a hole someplace and shot.

But that's just my opinion, even if someone disagrees, he has the right to do so, and I'm not going to force him to abandon his musical "taste". (""'s for humorous effect.) :)

It's more remakes that tick me off rather than remixes. Some remixes are pretty cool, but a lot of modern remakes just suck. They started sucking in the late '90s, though, I can at least stomach remakes from the early '90s and before.

haha, i love the annoying member feature, that just sounds hilarious!
when can we expect this?

It sounds to me like he's just a 12 year old just trying to get under peoples skin, or a really bitchy, vindicative (ex)girlfriend, lol. His arguments are always short and 1 or 2 sentences, and always negative.

Oh, I see. You're a genius who's creative without any influence.

Be careful not to meet anybody in your life or surf the internet - you might catch up something about the past which could influence your fantastic, completely original-without-any-influences-of-the-past-or-anything-else-creations...
