Can I ask.. if your TV-out chip is broken will you be able to get tv-out using the BoB? (I'm guessing.. No.)

no probs :) I hardly dared post it in case it was already posted in News or something! I couldn't see it, but I'm wearing flame-retardant clothing today, just in case.

ste_167 are you the guy that coded for the gp32 being 12 years old?

btw is 16.7. your bithdate?

ot: that bob looks cool, i hope it'll get utilized in the future

That looks like the "developer's bob" (i.e. no case).
I get the impression the cased one will be coming at a later date, possibly without JTAG.

Anyone know if techFreak's still planning on releasing a more portable bob?

Using a bob would allow me to connect a keyboard and play games that need one? E.g interactive fiction.

It's not me - I'm a fair few years older! 167 is a random number, I wish I had a more interesting reply!
Nickmon - the first ones are as naked as the day they were soldered.

Does anyone have the answer to my tv-out question?

I do have an answer, but I don't know if it's the right answer... there's a 50/50 chance, though. ;)

Edit: Sorry, /really/ bored at work... *sighs*

ste_167: How did your brake your tv-out chip?

Does anyone know if the current firmware/games use the actual hardware "address" of the joystick or something more modifiable like /dev/js#

The Thought is that if its using /dev/js# then one could write a script to remap the device to one of the external joysticks. In theory that would be alot easier then writing it into each program/game/emulator wouldn't it?

Does anyone know if the board has DC in to power USB devices and if so will this also power the GP2x so that you would only need one power adapter the power everything?

There was talk about adding that feature when techfreak was designing the prototype...He said it could be done... GBAX says it can run off the gp2xs batteries but that a power supply could be used. Maybe it gets its power from the gp2x's power supply and uses a stepper to convert it to 5.5v on the usb side? either way it sound like you would only need one PS. Where it plugs into is a mistery. :)

According to the link:
Although the board will run via batteries it is recommended you use a PSU with it since it will be at home anyway, rather uneconomical to waste batteries!

I think the top image shows the DC in as the small black port... but I don't know (Craig?)

Edit: DBH's idea works better

It never did work. I get scrambled lines across the screen - a First Edition GP2X issue...

I'll venture that,if your sure its a hardware problem, the BOB won't help you. as they say "garbage in, garbage out" :(

Wite Noiz: I think that might be a audio-out jack for headphones/pc speakers its placement could be construde in either direction due to placement

Hey craig, can you post the dimensions of the board because I'm going to go buy a case and I hope to order them at the same time.
