I was just wondering if its possible to connect a standard dvd player to a tv capture card and record the movies, then encode them to divx for the gp32.

I've actually tried this with xbox, although only with clips and stuff.

I don't currently have a dvd drive on my pc (CDRWx2 instead),
is encoding by capture crazy, or is ripping directly from dvd difficult?

My wierd method uses real-time, so it takes a while, is there a faster way, (ie. are there dvd to HD back-up programs that are reliable and quick, I might get an older 16xdvd)?

if you want to make a rip only for gp32 (low quality) it is fast with a good cpu...
but if you want to make a rip in really good quality it could take some hours, more than the movie sometime :D

copying a dvd to gp32 by a tv capture card should be ok for the gp32... but if you want a good movie rip, its not the best solution i think

ok bye
