What are the best RPG's which play on the GP2X with full speed etc.? I'm a total RPG-addict, and missed out the whole SNES/Genesis etc. generation of games, so I would like to catch up :)

Genesis has some great ones.
Shining Force series (Tactical RPGs)
Phantasy Star II-IV
Sword of Vermillion (I think, or was that SMS?)
And since DrMDx plays SMS, you might as well grab Phantasy Star I while you're at it!

Most SNES RPGs are a little slow, but entirely playable.
Check out FF IV-VI and Dragon Quest I-III, V and VI. Also 7th Saga, Breath of Fire, and Chrono Trigger.

Don't ignore the NES though.
Final Fantasy (II and III available through translations)
Ultima
Dragon Warrior I-IV
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (the first "Action" RPG, AFAIC)
And those are only the more mainstream ones. ;)

Mario RPG won't run on the GP2X, due to an advanced graphical chip. (or something like that :p )

Sword of Vermillion is indeed a MD game. :)

I add Secret of Mana and Illusion of Time/Gaia to the SNES list.

Right now im playing Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 (Cobis Version), its making so addictive.. i played dwm 1 a few years ago, they never released part 2 in europe, but now that time has come :)
without a doubt the best game on the GBC beside part 1 (thats just my opinion)

just today i have already played about 5 hours that damn game on gnuboy!

Why no love for Zelda 3 (Link to the Past - SNES) :(
I haven't tried it yet on the gp2x, so cant guarantee it works, but that is an amazing game, even by todays standards.

A couple more for the MD/Genesis that I loved are Wonder Boy Monster World V & VI, Crusader of Centy, Beyond Oasis/Legend of Thor, and Shining in the Darkness (it started the whole Shining Series).

Also try Lufia I & II for SNES. Not sure how great they run on the GP2X, but they are great games. Actraiser is another of my favorites. It's an action RPG with amazing music.

Err... because its not an RPG? A good game, yes. An RPG, no.
