I was wondering is it possible, SPDIF maybe?
Some how to feed sound digitally trough ext port to external decoder, amplifier...

I know, its a long shot but had to ask... =)

Thanks!

well, yeas and no, while we dont have any from of digital audio on it you could hook up a usb soundcard to it, there are very small usb "soundcards" nowdays that would even fit in the ext plug.
However quality with theese wouldnt be to great.
But if you need quality... SoundBlaster Extigy anyone? :)

Hmm... So it could "passtrough" digital audio?
Trough second audio channel maybe?

Mainly I would use it to decode AC3 sound from movies so I could transform the GP to a full multimedia player to my living room when the BoB arrives.

im not sure if the audio pins can be configured for anything else but analouge audio, but at least dolby surround should work as it dosnt need any device side support.
AC3 isnt supported by gp2x due to licensing costs.

Yeah, ok.
It just needs to passtrough the digital signal trought audio channel to feed it into a amplifier to decode signal to analog.

So would it be possible to modify mplayer to do this?
Without any hardware modification/hacking?

No problem, just asking about possibilities... =) (poor student, doesnt afford to buy a Xvid/DivX player)

Just have big plans ahead for the BoB... =)

If it arrives, waiting and waiting...

Thanks anyway!
