Firmware Disaster

As long as you are waiting around for a reply, why don't you try reformating the SD card (assuming you have a cheap card reader) and try it again. All you have to loose is time, and I think it might be worth a shot, H.G.

Now thats a positve thought :D I will give it a try when I get home from work, although I dont hold up much hope for a miracle ;)

To confirm I wasnt using batteries but a mains charger, as I always do with firmware upgrades.

Cheers guys

the first time i flashed the new firmware, the gp2x didnt boot after that. I turned it off, hold select start and turned it on. The firmware flashing started again and lasted MUCH longer then the first time. so i get to new boot screen, and the application patching started. After all, the gp2x was working :D

When you flashed it the first time did you experience the vertical coloured lines down the screen?

they will reflash it for you for cheap.

No they won't - my week old GP2X is in the same state as c17's. GBAX referred me to Evildragon, and I'm awaiting a reply from him (hopefully).

Evildragon has kindly reflashed my GP2X with V2. Full marks to him for providing a rescue service.

did you try to put the firmware upgrade files and turn the gp2x on holding start and select?

I've tried that, now get a white screen that slowly turns into vertical coloured lines on a black background.
I had the same thing, it was drained batteries.
I put in new ones and restarted with START and SELECT held down.
Everything is working now.
