Roms cannot be downloaded from this site*. Compability depends on the version of the rom. Snes is mostly all the same, although the formats can differ (*.fig, *.smc ...) but mame roms change occasionally from version to version. That includes Neogeo Arcade and AES roms! For all the other systems it doesn't really make a difference...

Note that this is not a system for absolute beginners. It remains buggy and difficult to use, so you need to be sure that you can handle it! There is a lot of people who are willing to help and assist though ;-)

Edit: * It is not legal to offer most roms in public. You are merely allowed to possess them for 24 hours if you do not own the original game and sometimes hardware, too. This may differ from country to country but it's mostly illegal. So you won't find any links or similar to pages offering roms or the roms themselves here...

Same roms as used on the PC versions (except mame).

xnopasaranx, that last paragraph is bollocks. Roms are illegal unless you dump them from your own games.

Mame roms are exactly the same as the PC, you just need to roll back to version 0.34 filename/structure which would be the case if you used MAme 0.34 on the PC.

Ditto on the last paragraph BS.

the 24 hour law simply doesnt exist but its ok to have them if you own the original.
