^ title.

newbie here, i just wanted to know if it can handle SSF2T, X men VS Streetfighter, SF Aplha 3, and other capcom games before i went out and bought myself a GP32. i was also thinking of getting a PSP (for Alpha 3 and emulators), but ever since i found out about the GP32 i've totally forgotten about that.

Both MameGp2x and GnGeo2x play NeoGeo games rather nicely :). Thats about as close to CPS2 games as your going to get just at the moment.

We need a dedicated emu strictly for CPS1 or CPS2 just like GnGeo to have it at a playable speed. CPS1 in MAME2X runs great already so there's hope. But I'm sure a CPS2 emu will pop up eventually.

I wonder if Raine could be ported over to the GP2X? I know there were some older versions of Raine that were for Linux, and CPS1 and I think CPS2 were running on those. That's probably in the recent versions though. Raine is nice cause it can run good on a very low end machine like a PII 300 mhz. I used to use it more than mame for that reason. Also Cave games run on it as well :) Anyways it is good to see this version of mame always being updated. It looks like it just gets better and better with every release. Very fine work!

yeah, i'm pretty sure anything that can run a PS1 emulator is able to run a CPS2 one as well.

another noob question here: do i hold out for the XGP or do i just get the 2x now? what about the 2x joystick issues?

Man, if I hear the acronym XGP one more time I'm going to shoot something. The XGP is looking to be a vapourus hunk of crap, with ever changing specifications. It may come out in time to compete with the GP3x.

As for CPS2, it's quite possible with a little work on Final Burn. It has full source, and it's using chips that we already have well optimized code for emulation.

Allan.
