Hi,

I´ve just ordered my GP32 yesterday at Lik-Sang and I must say, it´s a very cool device...

My questions:
Is there any games and emulators out there that works very well?
Is there a movieplayer that plays sound and movie with 20 FPS?
How long does the delivery take with UPS? (Device is available at 24 hour)

And the last one:
How´s my english? :D (cause I´m a German)

Thanks,

Daniel

i got mine today but the people here are a great help:)

oh and your english is good

yer your english is good better than my german anyway,

Is there any games and emulators out there that works very well?

- Yes GP Engine and SMS0.5 (SMS&Game GeaR) these two best ones ive used
on my gp32. also ScummVM for playing lucas arts games and Wolfenstein3d works perfect. Doom2 is nice but no sound/save.

Is there a movieplayer that plays sound and movie with 20 FPS?
- yer i think moviepark works really well it will cost you around 5-8euros from entware.com tho

Daniel, I must say that you definately should have done your research on the GP32 before you got it.

I followed the gp32 scene for quite a while before I got one.

Heres a list of my own experiences with each....

Commodore Plus 4
- never tried it

Commodore64 - Frodo
- Works like a CHARM, this is perfect emulation, sound, gfx, speed, but you cant save yet

Game Boy / GB Color
- Works great, the GBC runs a little slow (you especially hear crackling and slow down) when in full screen mode, but apart from that its great

Msx1 / Msx2
- Apparently works perfect from my m8 testing it but ive yet to try this one

Nes
- perfect except for crackling in the sound which is quite off putting in this one

PC Engine
- perfection, except salamander in which the scenery draws way to late, no saving yet but worth a GP alone this one :)

SMS / GameGear
- brilliant, full battery saving, some games do have a little slow down but i love this emu!!

Super Nintendo
- 2 versions, 1 with sound/save but slow, one without either but playable speed, im hopefull but as they stand, i cant play with either

SCUMMVM
- Perfect... nuff said, apparently new version in the works to support MP3 sound... hope so :)

ZX Spectrum
- This is so close to being perfect it hurts that its not, when you turn sound on it crackles like mad and you just cant use it.... Spectrum EMU is one of my biggest wishes. The guy who made ZXadvance on the GBA (a fantastic EMU) is keen to convert it for the GP, only time will tell :)

Hope this helps

I thought that moviepark went at 10fps, I might be wrong, but everywhere I look (the fourms, official site...) it says 10fps.

Who cares about the fps - its damn watchable with good sound on Moviepark - the geekazoids are caving in !?!?

Try some games made for the GP32 too, Like Arcano.
There's also a module player and a SID player around.
The Heretic port may be incomplete as well, but it runs better than the Doom port as it features sound and save/load support. It does not support switching weapons, but that's a small problem :)

Well, I don't care about FPS if you are telling that to me, but the first post asked about it, so I gave the info.
