I've about given up tweaking the code for this thing, I'll continue to attempt it, til it runs in some form, has to be possible. But it's open, it's source is available, and would realllllllllllly love to get a copy, specially since I can't get it to compile in OSX due to some irritating SDL glitch I have.

since i'm too busy/lazy to find out myself, what is freeCNC? it sounds like a CAM machine

Open-source Command & Conquer engine, should work fairly well on the system, I think. The build menu would probably get chopped in half, but workable, seen it working on an iPaq running Linux, so it MUST be portable.

I believe it runs 'Tiberian Dawn' either Windows 95 or DOS, and Red Alert 1 works, but is rather twitchy and not fully supported. I believe the counterstrike add-on also works

The most recent versions don't support Red Alert. I'd suggest getting an older version and porting it, so that we can get a version that supports Red Alert as well.

try the playstation versions using the PSX emulator, C&C dawn might be playable, i tried Retaliation, but its too slow.

if someone can get this working on the gp2x i would be very VERY happy and also quite impressed - i cant even make the win32 version work on my damned pc let alone getting it going on a gp2x ;)

i had all the origninal c&c datafiles from my cd - iirc it was complaining about some random font or the other
