I've read the latest NPD report, and handheld made up for the losses from their bigger brothers. And, out of them, Gameboy Advance took 64% of all handheld "software" sales, which is actual source of income for manufacturers. It's funny to me that all those you-suck battle between DS and PSP only got them 36% combined, whereas good ol' GBA took the biggest chunk silently without much fireworks at all.

micro shmicro, it's still "older" and not so cutting edge anymore :p
anyway, the gba being cheaper and having a lot of games being regularly released, it's easy to see why it's number one by far.

If I didn't get my micro, probably, I would have moved on with other systems' games. I've played FF4, and now playing minish cap. I plan on buying drill dozer next month, and thinking of buying other GBA games that I have passed such as FireEmblem 2 and such. To me, I'm re-discovering GBA with my micro.

Are we saying in this thread that GBA is retro? As for being on the shelf is current for it's defence, Atari Flashback 2.0 is being sold on store shelves. It is a Atari 2600 on a chip with 40 built in old Atari games. :)

yeah, 40 games that were written 25+ years ago...
I really have been meaning to pick the flashback2 up, though.
...uummm, somewhat more modern TV hookups without any effort...

In a "Hardcore Gamer" magazine it showed how to modify the Flashback 2.0 to be able to use the old original carts. You add a port to plug them in and you have a switch to be able to go back and forth. It has the same internal stuff as the original Atari. ;)
I was mainly refering to it in responce to the defence of the Gameboy still being on the shelves, although the technology is old. The question in this thread is, Is it still current? Or has it become out dated and old? Has it become a retro system? The Atari Flashback 2.0 is retro gaming. It is an old technology and yet, has it become current because it is being offered on the store shelves again?
