Is there an Australian retailer or am I better off getting a unit imported? If so, where's the cheapest place to import from :)

Cheers!
Rick

No you can't get it anywhere retail in OZ. I ordered mine from play-asia.com and got it within a few days.

Btw, I paid $300 AUD for the unit, case and shipping by UPS (which is 3-4 days max).

Yeah, I got it from a bad place, and then when that bad place chose not to sell GP2Xs until later, I chose other bad place.

Play-asia seems a good choice. I'm going to go with them for accessories and games.

Yep, I also ordered from Play-Asia. When it was shipped, it came in about 3 days, which was good. They also gave me some free asian candy; I dare not touch it.

not sure how things are now, its been a few years.

i got me gp32 from play-asia, from their end of the bargain they did good and it got here quick. unfortunately it attracted a rather hefty import duty or some such as i recall.

The threshold for duty has been raised last year so you would not pay anything for importing a gp2x. But yeah, a couple of years ago it would have been a different story.

If you were setting up a proper retail channel, then that is a good idea and I'd help promote your business all over the web etc.

If it is just a bulk buy there is the issue of where do you send a unit that needs warranty work etc? (considering the auto brick issue etc)

What's a minimum purchase from Korea@GPH?

I was thinking about selling them as well. But it is a lot of work setting up a page and a business, as well advertising.

Plus, you are locked into a minimum volume of probably 1000 units plus. which will require too much capital. Way to much effort and risk.

If I was seriuos, had the time, the cash and the gall, I'd try and meet someone from GHP in Korea when I have my trip in a few months.

If you wanted to setup a gp2x store, I'd be glad to help out in some way.

For a less risky venture, you could buy a dozen or so and try to sell them for more on ebay near christmas when idiots will buy anything that seem gimicky without checking the facts.
