Hmm.. I'm not sure anybody done this alreay.
Rather short announce though :)

--------

This patch version 1.2.1 will correct Toshiba SD recognition problem.

If you don't have any problem with 1.2.0, you do not need this one and just go for next firmware 1.3.0 (It will be out this weekend or next week)

---------

That's it.

I look forward what will come with 1.3.0

think i'll test this one when i get home tonight... hopefully its not got more new bugs like 1.2.0 introduced... 1.3.0 soon? wonder if GPH have any idea about version'ing? we've had like 5 updates and were on 1.3.0?

I dunno.. kinda makes sense 1.2.0 introduced new features, 1.2.1 is just a bug fix. Presumably therefore 1.3.0 will introduce new features... or a hell of a load of bug fixes ;)

I know people are moaning about the not getting many firmware updates but I think they're doing pretty well!

Dont know if this will help anybody as they say the toshiba cards wont work well...

Go to the "Explorer" menu to mount the SD card if you cant find any files in any other menu!
It might help but i cant tell as i dont got a stupid toshiba card. ^_^

Well here is what i recognized, I'm probebly not alone about this but...
I did the FW upgrade and everything worked fine.. the updates where not implemented before i run the patch atleast not the 4way menu navigation. Well then after running the patch i was realy happy i could go everywhere in the manu yippie... But when i enterd the SD card in the games menu (after pressed down to select the SD intstead of the NAND as im adicted to that and realized that they realy changed it :p) there where no files there... I thought what the hell there cant be any probs with my card... so i just whent to the explorer menu and there the files where and I got accessed to them in any other menu.
It's not the first time this helped me, just once i had to restart my gp because of not finding the SD card. ^_^ ^_^

Small question: Do I need the older versions to upgrade to the new one? For instance, once 1.3.0 comes out, do I need 1.2.0 first?

no, each update contains every update before it, you can be running 1.0.1 and then instantly upgrade to 1.3 without problems as 1.3 will contain all previous patches

I expect all previous fw updates and bug fixes to be included on the upcoming update.

This is wonderful. GPH is really pumping out those updates now. Cant wait to give the new one a go :D

I think I'll just skip this one then. I really hope they fix the scanline/interlace problem in 1.3.0 :)

Did you unpacked the "gp2xpatch-1.2.1.tar.gz" file? Or it's enough to just put it in a root of SD card and run the patch20060107.gpu?
Don't unpack the tar.gz - just run the updater.

Just updated mine - everything looks good. SD/NAND switch and four way movement are a huge plus :)

Good to hear things are fixed. I'm still going to wait since GPH announced another firmware update this weekend.

Finally a decent update!

My SD card works as it should, the picture viewer is greatly improved and I didn't bricked my gp2x this time. ;)

If only this pesky interlacing in lcd could eliminated (but for a stick I found that I had to modify the cap to improve its reliability)...
