I loaded drmd on my sd card and ran it in "game". This creates the drmd folder on my sd card. I know the readme is probably pretty clear, but where the hell do I put my roms on to make them work w/ drmd?!?

The DRmd directory is where your state save files will go.

Whoops yeah see craigs post below.

How to use it?
--------------
Firstly copy the DrMD.fxe to your GP2X. It can be run from any directory.
When DrMD is run it will create a /drmd/ directory on your SD card, this is
where your menu config and save states are stored.

Now you need to copy some Genesis games to your GP2X. These *MUST* go
into the /roms/megadrive directory on your sd card.
This is to simplify the
rom selection process and it also makes my life alot easier. :)

IMPORTANT! - directory names are case sensitive.

DrMD supports BIN and SMD Genesis rom formats
DrMD also supports the above formats while stored in compressed ZIP files.
*NOTE*
DrMD only has limited zip file support. It does not support more
than one genesis rom stored in a zip. DrMD will only load the first
file it finds stored in the zip file.

Does no one actually read these things?

Into your DCIM folder?!

oh... "surprise, surprise" you have to create the roms folder on your own, there you create a megadrive folder and put your roms into it. Don't be that lazy :p

It goes straight into the root directory not into your digital cameras save folder.

yeah that's what I thought after reading that, of course I know what DCIM is TelcoLou ;) I was just surprised by where he put drmd

Oh and it's not true, he can put drmd everywhere he likes! It doesn't matter where it is but there still needs to be a rom folder with a megadrive one where the MD roms are stored in of course.

I said I was retarded! Okay. I've put it onto the root directory of my sd card, not my DCIM folder. I ran it, and no drmd folder was created and no other directory?!
OMG its not that difficult.

put drmdx.gpe in the root directory, and make a folder roms/megadrive

put the roms inside the folder.

It doesn't matter where you put the emulator executable just where the roms are located. They need to be located in the Root directory under ROMS/Megadrive directory.

After they are there you need to run the emulator and tell it to find the roms and build a list, I think its the top option from the emulator menu.

I TOLD YOU ALLREADY...

edit: omg you create a dir by... I guess you use windows: rightclick on your SD then select "new folder" then you name it roms (case sensitive!) then you go into that dir and you click again "new folder" you name it megadrive again keep it lowercase.

And there you put all your roms into ;)

... he doesn't even know how to create a folder. I fear all is lost ...

(Hint: Right-click > New Folder)

I do know how to create a folder. I just thought it was supposed to create a directory on its own like the drmd folder. I thought something was going wrong with the way I put it on my card. Thanks for the help & insults though!

Right click with your mouse on the sd card and Create new folder.
Name that folder roms (do not use capitals.)
Then go into the roms folder and create another new folder inside of roms directory named megadrive (Again, do not use capital letters in the folder name)

Put your roms in the megadrive folder and then you scan for a romlist in drmd when you go to select rom option.

Once its done there will be a list below it and you can select your game.

You may know how to make a folder, but a post like that leads people to believe otherwise.
