Well I just recieved my latest copy of Retro Gamer from the new publisher, Imagine Publishing. Had a quick flick through and its looking impressive and definately more professional than its previous incarnation.

I was mildly surprised to find a full page advertisement of the GP2X in the middle, I was more surprised to find the 'next month' section they are going to be doing a full review spread of the handheld! Im thinking that could be interesting!

Just thought I'd give people the heads up so that you can keep a look out for it, just incase anyone is interested and decides to part some cash for it :)

Got my copy today too, nice suprise to see this, hope next months review is fair.

yeah, apparently they're sending out 3 issues to prior-RG subscribers; thats something, since I renewed right before they went under (so paid for 12, got zero :/) Looking forward to its rebirth .. but I'll have to debate renewel since got burnt there :)

Craig always had big ads in RG; a review will be cool though, though might be too early for a review as the scene has kicked up a lot of dust yet :)

Any idea if this includes international subscribers ? Like us in Australia.

I have missed retro gamer, glad its back ! And doubly glad the gp2x is going to get some coverage (hopefully +ve).

For anybody keeping note of all the adverts, i've just spotted the same full page ad in the new issue of Linux Format (guess it's a good job the GPL stuff has been sorted before more of their readers start converging here ;) )

if you liked the old retrogamer get the retro survivor cd, it has loads of articles that were due to be in the old issue 19 before it folded, very good read, wish there was an html viewer for the gp2x so i could read it on there ( well after christmas day anyway)

http://www.gp2xuser.com

there's a scan here on the front page guys for those who haven't seen the ad yet.

oops sorry, i didn't see that someone had posted a different scan earlier, i've modified this post with the apology as i wouldn't of posted if i'd seen that...

Pleased to hear that the new 'Retro Gamer' has hit the shelves - was gutted when it folded. Hopefully the new publishers will keep the title going for longer - will certainly go looking for a copy tomorrow.

I'm doubly thankful as not only was it a great read, but I 'found' the GP32 via Craig's adverts in Retro Gamer, ordered one and then discovered this site. And I'd bet I'm not the only one to arrive here via that route.

Oddly I don't remember Retro Gamer ever reviewing the GP32....

Damn right ... of course, I played it on Amiga, not the ST :)

Not that I'm sneaking and looking for my xmas presents, but I *did* see an envelope with a foreign looking postage thing on it on the table the other day. Could it be an xmas gift? :)

<I asked for it for xmas can't wait to get it>

I'm also hoping they extend the 3 issue deal to US subscribers too. I only ended up with about half of my issues. They don't have to do this but I would seriously consider subscribing again if they did.

Got my first issue, very nice. Same mag but glossier, with so much to read!

I think it's Jan 5th the next issue. I probably will resubscribe, as I would be surprised if imagine went under.....
