I don't know why but I can't get this to work. I copied the files to GPMM and the wads to their directories but as soon as the file is selected it just resets. It does the same for both. What is wrong any ideas? I have tried shareware versions, full versions, nothing works.
ditto. Mine's doing the same thing.

Hexen was a little unstable on the last release as well (not so for Heretic). Sometimes it would just reset if I left it on the menu idle too long.

superb! hexen is wicked, played it to death on the saturn!

a small question: i've got an old fps here (witchaven II), seems to run on one of the engines like doom, hexen or something like that. if you want me to send you the files on the disk for a look at, just ask ;)

According Wikipedia "Witchaven" and "Witchaven II" used the BUILD engine (like Duke Nukem 3D).

Where is the hexen+.fxe for BLU+ described in the readme?
And how can i disable the original function of the SELCECT button (switching off backlight)?

THANKS for this great port!

I do have the same problem. Just download from gp32x.de hexen32.zip and heretic32.zip, but both zips don`t have the BLU+ version (hexen+.fxe, heretic+.fxe).
The included versions do have the white bar problem on my GP32. Apart from that, great ports! Thank you.

Sorry, I didn't compile the blu+ version. I'll add it tomorrow.

There is a problem with the wad selector. Delete the wads.cfg file and it should work

Probably you're using the Hexen v1.0 wad that isn't supported. Try 1.1 or 1.2.

That's not possible.

I've updated the music pack for hexen and heretic and now it sounds a lot better :)
They must be unzipped to gpmm/heretic/music and gppm/hexen/music

Great. Thank you very much. I wish you a lot of nice christmas presents

This problem did I also have with other Hexen/Heretic/Doom ports. Most ports I know expect the highest patched WAD versions. This may help to identify the correct WADs:

Heretic v1.2 Shareware HERETIC1.WAD 5120920 25-09-95 22d3f0ca
Hexen - Beyond Heretic v1.1 HEXEN.WAD 20083672 14-03-96 dca9114c

Thank you. Just tested Heretic32 with "Heretic v1.3 Serpent Riders". The music sounds very good (tested with h**32_music2). I had to delete the wad.cfg - like you wrote before.

Update: Hexen32 with "Hexen - Beyond Heretic v1.1"... :D Wonderfull!

Hey A600, thanks for the new releases! Any news on Doom32? I can't wait to fire up WolfenDoom :D

Sorry, but next two months my spare time will be almost zero and the corrupted savegames bug is a fucking bitch :(

Howcome I can't run these? It just resets as soon as I select from the wad selector? If I delete the wad cfg file it just loads the fxe then resets. What is wrong?

@spaceboygp32x and DaveC, try this version.

It works fine on my FLU and BLU GP32 with the wads.cfg intact, with the wads.cfg deleted and with only one entry in the wads.cfg.

ok - now it works but I dont know what I did...

I have the full hexen .wad and then a few PD wads in there... I have the original wad.cfg and the last file a600 posted...

I cant work out what I did right

Dave C if you want a copy of the diectory minus the Wads I can email it to you just PM me...

thnx a600 - this will keep me busy for a few days!

Heretic always works for me. But sometimes Hexen restarts after selecting it from the wad list.

What I do is get into Heretic first. Then quit so the GP32 restarts... Then start up Hexen and it works. If yours works like mine (With Heretic working but Hexen not), then give this a go.

Try one thing: format your SMC. Now I remember I had a similar problem while porting Hexen and that solved it.

Any chance of someone re-uploading the Blu+ Fxe's for Hexen and Heretic?

- Alex
