The SDL libs dont copy over to sd card, as some are alliases. So ttryed without and now it dont work.

any help?

The 2X has SDL built in (it's on the NAND), but if you want to use a modified or higher version, then do a static link rather than dynamic.

But when i download them they show up as shortcuts, but they are not. Do i need to update to play games, or is my model broken? It just shows a black scren on the games.

perhaps OSX does something wierd with the gp2x's libraries....it's usually always hiding a lot of the linux/unix stuff underneath. A whole directory/file structure can just be an icon in the Finder-windows.

perhaps you should go console and copy the files over that way....
I have a mac and a pc, use both with a cardreader to put stuff on the gp2x. Haven't connected the gp2x through USB. Almost never did that with my gp32's either....

This problem apparently lies with Stuffit Expander.

The file gp2x_Lib.zip should give two files when extracted - install_libs.gpu and install_libs.tar.gz. However, recent versions of Stuffit Expander seem to decide that it's ok to extract .tar.gz files at the same time as extracting other compressed files that contain one within.

The solution to the problem should be to navigate to Macintosh HD > Applications (Mac OS 9) > Internet Utilities > Aladdin Folder > Stuffit Expander 6.0 and run the Stuffit Expander found there to extract gp2x_Lib.zip. If you don't have an older version of the application present, you should be able to download Stuffit Expander 7.0.3 here.

Extracting the zip by using the older version of Stuffit Expander should give you a directory named gp2x_Lib Folder, which will contain the two intact files you need. You should now be able to install the SDL libs without difficulty.

I hope this helps.

Thankyou so much. I used stuffit deluxe to drag out the tar.gz and tryed it that way, thank you so much. The problem was that it was unarchiving all of the contents.

You don't need stuffit expander for zip files on OS X.3 and above(might be earlier, can't remember) as zip files are supported by the core apps.

Use control click on file --> Open with --> BOMArchiveHelper
