im sure at somestage people may need replacement parts, have GPH any plans for different coloured buttons/themed buttons?

I think GPH's main concern right now is getting the GP2X launched. ;)

I've not heard any plans to offer replacement buttons in different colors, there has only been talk of offering different colored GP2X's (like Silver for example) in the future. but nothing is final yet.

At the moment, the GP2X comes in any color you want - as long as you want black. :p (Hopefully some people get the historical reference)

If, by skins, you mean those tacky plastic stick-on things that I once stuck on my playstation back in "the day" I'd give them a miss.

If by skins you mean "replacement cases" then the first person to make me a solid anodised aluminium one wins.

Vinyl skins only work best on perfectly flat surfaces, and even then can start to migrate with the use that handhelds are meant for.

I doubt GPH will offer replacment cases as that would immediatly void numerous warrentees as mentioned in the Dead pixel policy thread. If you open you system for any customization they'll charge you if it ever needs repair. While I'm sure they'd love to make money I doubt they'd offer a trap that insures you have to pay not only for the vanity buttons and case but also a potential future repair if you screw something up during the switch.

I've had my gp32 for just about 2 years, about a year and a half ago I bought button membranes from craigix just in case I ever needed them and couldnt get them. Looks like I need to use em pretty soon as my B button is getting pretty sloppy. So basically what I am getting at is: Will the Gp2x have spare parts available? :)

Man I am getting sucked in to asking questions about a console that isn't even out or I haven't even got yet.... pre-ordered though.

I meant to paint them... Dont have the skills to make replacement cases... :D ... yet.

Though an anodised aluminium case would be cool...

Someone made the products availible eventually for the GP32 I suppose it may happen for the 2X also. Though I assume these might have been made availible late in the product's life span so maybe they won't bee needed right away but will be there when you do... if you do.
