There are many file launchers besides Wind-ups. The one I find easiest to use (though it badly needs some minor bug-fixing) is YAFL (Yet Another File Launcher). It's quicker to use because it doesn't rely on using a mouse. Wind-ups does have some handy extra features, though.

I would say the cons of wind-ups overweigh the pros.

Worst point:
It`s slow, and to make full use of it, you have to place icons with much work on the desktop and name them.

Wind-ups: looks like a Windows desktop but all shortcuts have to be made by yourself. You can choose your own desktop image and icons and it has some useful tools. It uses a mouse-cursor which is 'funny' but IMO not very handy.

YAFL: looks and functions like the PalmOS launcher, finds all fxe's in your GPMM folder and creates shortcuts for them. You can choose your desktop image, icons and themes. No extra tools but those can be installed seperately. Has problems with Fenix games (but this can be solved by renaming some files).
Edit: you can see how YAFL looks and works (sort of) at my site (link in my signature)

Slubman: a complete package, file-launcher and explorer with some handy functions. I believe you can choose your dektop image but can't choose your own icons or change the appearance in any other way. This is the only one (out of these three) that can launch commercial games.

I guess it all depends on how much control you want to have about the way your 'GP32 desktop' looks. Personally I use YAFL so I can change the way everything looks and use Slubmans explorer as my -uh- explorer.

raven - how do I rename my Fenix files to work with YAFL? That was the major "bug" I had with it.

By the way, you can see what YAFL looks like (and download it) in the link that I posted in my previous post.

I want to customize my desktop image i suppose. The icons arent a MUST, but they wouldnt hurt. I just would like to make my gp32 more like my personality, if you know what i mean :D

i guess forget about windups, but which do you guys prefer....YAFL or slubman? which has more pros than cons? Can I try them both?

er, what does this mean? commercial games cant play on the others??

EDIT* I looked at sceenshots of YAFL, and it looks pretty sweet. Can anyone link me to screenshots of slubmans firmware? it would ease my decision i guess

thanks
