Gp32 Micro?? Don't I Wish!!

50 is unlikely, chances are you wont see it sell for less than 80 bucks unless they wise up quick. It's kinda funny I haven't really seen any games worth having recently for the GBA, and the DS wont see anything worth while until september, You'd think they'd try and have something to fill the void one system suffers by offering games on the other system.

Warioware Twisted might be nice but it's not enough to fill a whole summer.

Well I'm not 9 years old anymore and my hands are rather mannish (as they should be) in my old age -- the Micro wouldn't feel comfortable at all.

The PSP's screen is way too large for its resolution. That's what seems to be nice about the GBA Micro, but if you can actually hold it in your hands might be quite big an issue...

GBA micro-- i am not sure, when i first saw pics of it i thought it was another lame nintendo idea, but as time has passed the notion has grown on me. like anything else, i'll reserve judgement on it until i actually see and play with one myself. very unlikely i'd actually buy one since my GBA doesn't get much play as it is, but i stick to what I say - if a gp32 device in that vein came out, it would certainly appeal to me.

psp screen is gorgeous, it's funny how the size is the same as the entire micro unit.. i've not touched psp for more than a second and it doesn't appeal to me, maybe if it was $100 (dreaming, I know). but all along I have said - if you are gonna play ps2-style games, and watch movies - why not play them on a ps2 on a nice big TV with stereo setup and all of that!! that's my opinion on the matter..

I think you've missed the 'portable' bit :p

I'm sorry, but it just seems an opinion that is fuelled by the fact that you dont want to pay that much for it. You could say the same about any games - I much prefer playing on the go to sitting around at home playing. And if I can get nice pretty games at the same time then I'm a happy chappy.

I like my PSP and wouldnt get rid of it - was worth the cash.

Eh? Do you own one? Have you played on it for an extended period of time? It's great to have a screen that big, and the resolution is fine.

The PSP screen is abosoultely fine - you can never please everyone, but people tend to look for reasons to bash, and the screen definitely isn't one of them!

The only thing that really annoys me about the PSP is games that require use of the analog stick, because that analog stick is horrible to use and in completely the wrong place. I find it really awkward. The dpad is just in the correct position.

Anyone know why Sony put the analog where they did? Surely if they wanted it so badly, they could have just replaced the dpad with it?

The PSP screen has horrible ghosting and is quite useless in direct sunlight. And you could always have bad luck and get dead pixels (me not :p ).
Ather than that, it´s indeed quite nice.

I think that the GBA series are what they are supposed to be and the GB Micro just completes them. If you want a big screen you get GBA SP or Nintendo DS but you will get a bigger size portable and the GB Micro is just the opposite. One of the dullest things about the GBA is that it is not at all powerful and therefore the best emulation for it is NES.

Hilarious!
The PSP's screen is larger than the GBAmicro's body!

GBAmicro = Virtualboy

Kiss your eyes goodbye.

Damn right. Those virtualboys are made to make your eyes water  I'd still like to buy one though :)

I prefer the original gba to the sp. Its alot nicer to hold, esp with the grip/battery pack I have. The dicking around trying to see the screen, moving out of glare and it having no light totally puts me off playing it at all

PSP screen is too big for me with games, though it looks like it would be good for movies.

The gp32 gp32_console screen is spot on :D

The psp's dead pixels seriously aren't noticeable. I also find he psp is easier to see in sunlight than the gp32 blu.

I'd have to disagree there, I can easily see at least 10 dead pixels on my PSP, some which are stuck on white, others stuck at black. This is just normal usage playing games and the like and not using any of the "dead pixel spotting software" that is out there.

The one thing I liked about my GP32 is for the first time I felt like I was using both eyes to see the screen. The GBA micro looks like I would have to wear a patch over one eye. I haven't got a PSP yet, but from what I have seen from people that have one, the screen looks pretty good. I haven't seen one with dead pixels yet.

Nintendo's agressive marketing towards pirates is, indeed, notorious. :)

I have 4 DPs on my PSP, and they are relativly invisible uless you go looking for them. As long as you have less than 5 and they arnt clustered it's not a problem, if you do though, that's when you should call sony for a replacement (which they started doing shortly after the US release.)

As for the whole Direct sunlight thing, Every LCD is hard to view in Direct sun. You know what you do about this? MOVE IT OUT OF THE FREAKING SUN. I swear everytime I see this argument it's like people dont know they can move around.

About 8 of mine of 2 third's the way across the screen in a cluster about an inch down from the top. Can't really send it back because it's a japanese import, and they would probably upgrade the firmware. The other two are smack in the middle of the screen, and are black.

Ouch, sorry to hear that, your's is a prime example of one they'd probably exchange and you're right they'd probably just give you an upgraded FW even if it's not 2.0. :( The hazards of importing I guess.

At first I could swear I had none and then I noticed 2 and then a 3rd and later a 4th after that... but after I innitial annoyance and the thoughts of whether I should take it back to Best Buy for a replacement, I thought about how I played the thing for a good two hours before seeing them and realized how pointless it was to get angry over such a minor flaw. I was just grateful it wasnt like the people who I heard had 15 of them in one place on the screen.

I think Sony basically went for screen size over quality of screen, which explains the blurring and number of dead pixels.
