just got the new WE9/PES5. it rocks (and not only because shunsuki is the cover for it :).

its got an option for linking with the psp (not tested with my psp yet as not got it for psp yet).

I LOOOOVE THIS GAME!!

I haven't got it due to selling my PS2, but I have played it extensively.

The one thing I hate about getting a new Winning 11/PES games is it always looks worse than the last one...as by the time the new one is out, I've patched the old one up with kits, badges, menu images, banners, balls, gloves, faces, addboards, chants and menu music etc.

But eventually, things progress and I insert this and that, here and there, and the new games slowly starts to resemble something great.

Gameplay wise it's always a step up, even if it does take around a week to feel natural.

However, the one thing I really dislike about WE9 is that the sidestep is mapped to the pad. That just stinks.

On the plus side, it has allowed for the 'blaster' type shot to be included via the R2 button. So that's good.

Can't wait to get it on the PSP.

11 days to go!

This is going to be immense.

Some backgrounds I made in anticipation:

Nice! Not preordered it yet, but will do! (pointless point No.1).

But in the meantime Virtua Tennis is a very good sport sim!

Have you heard the bad news?

Winning Eleven won't work from the iso. Some type of new protection or something.

Gutted about this, was looking forward to patching on the PSP.

The good news however, is that PSPHacker say it works with the WAB update...so those of us who have ordered it on the UMD, will be able to enjoy it on our 1.5 PSPs.

Gutted that I ordered the standard shipping though, thought I'd have the ISO to keep me occupied.

Out in HK now!

Betis 1 - 2 Champions of Europe.

Chelsea - Who the f*ck cares?

Scrap that, it's been cracked already.

Patching joy.

Fantastic.

Waiting for this to arrive over here, so can use my credit note for GS. Running games off the memory stick gets a bit tiresome, with the swapping etc.

Yeah. I haven't got Winning Eleven 9 on the PS2 due to....not having a PS2, but apparently the editor is amazing. So I suppose it's not that bad for kits if you run it from the UMD.

But, I do like my own graphics (menus, adboards, banners etc), music etc in WE/PES, it's what makes a great game perfect. Also, you can translate it into English via patches, so...as well as the obvious MS advatages...it really is great to be able to run it from the MS.

So, I'll see how it goes.

Who the f*ck cares about Chelsea?*

tbh, I'm not that bothered about editing everything. I don't even mind having slightly different names. In fact I have even taking to calling real players by their 'pro names', hence Valencia having a striker named Froibaad.

The one thing that did piss me off though was those editions where the Dutch players were called "Oranges No.1", "Oranges No.2" etc. That was just silly.

Yeah, a few other classics from PES past and present:

Harston
DiiiiiBALDO
Baloum
Killer (No, not referring to Kluivert's hit and run - Jan Koller)
Roberto Larcos
Lemen
Davids with blonfd hair.
Van Mistelroum.
Van Bronkroast

...or atleast close to them anyway.

Editing PES ends all arguments about Fifa looking better and having better licences though - it makes it the complete game.

Well, here goes:

Winning Eleven on the PSP.

Unbelievable - the graphics and gameplay have been transferred to the PSP with such precision. Absolutely excellent. I'm not going to say anymore about it, because if you've played WE9 (or previous PES/WE) games, it's exactly what you'd expect.

Just in case though: 'L' is change man and hold in for chip as usual. 'R' is sprint. Holding in 'R' will aslo do the hard shot now - like in the PS2 version.

However, it's not all good.

Those who will be playing on a 2.0 from a UMD with no way to turn up the clockpeed of your PSP, will experience slowdown. Remember how it was back in WE8? It's back. The good news here though is that if you put your clock up to 333mhz, it makes one hell of a difference....so at least a lot of us our safe.

No Master league. No Cups. Seems to be only one stadium (unsure though)...

The edit mode seems lacking greatly (though I might be missing something not having messed with the editor in depth on WE9). You can't edit appearance, kits or basically anything. The only things you can do is stats and transfers. Seems like you have to do it all in the PS2 version - which is a major blow, and a bit of a con I feel. But, still, I hope I'm missing something obvious.

Seems like I've only talked about what's wrong with it, but I'm just telling you some of the bad things as we all know how good the gameplay and graphics are.

Hopefully some of this will eb sorted out for PES5.

i dont think i'm gonna get it, seems pointless without the ML in it :-( looks like i'm gonna have to wait till pes5 comes out on ps2 hopefully it will be improved compared to WE9.

i agree.

For me the portable version would have been perfect for master league. The PS2 version for multiplayer and the PSP version for single player/ master league.

just had a thought, on the winning eleven 9 its got a new option at the bottom that i think is a "road to the world cup" type thing which presets you as japan and enters you into some competition (just selected it then got bored and turned it off so dont know 100% what it is).

I was wondering if it would be on the european pes5 version and if it was, what would it be?
