Try to rub off all the graphite on the resistor. The same happened to me once and that did the trick. I used an ordinary rubber gum and after that an alcohol dipped cotton-stick (don't know the word in English.. in Sweden we call them "Tops" ) to remove any remaining graphite. Don't use much alcohol though, only dip it quickly. It's not supposed to be completely soaked.
