I remember playing atop down shooter in spain ages ago (years) on an arcade machine

It was really cool and I'd like to play it again.

It was very fast and got faster the further you got into it.

Two players

Lots of addons that made your ship bigger and bigger.

from what I remember it wasnt space based it was low level (with tanks and stuff)

But the things you controlled were like spaceships or robots or something.

I think the players were red and blue

Does this ring any bells with anyone?

no, nobody know....go look it up yourself you apathetic fuck

haha just kidding

i dont remember what its called but i remember playing something like that with my friend a few years back i dont remember what its called but im sure i could find out

is it the one where you launch of a ship thing in the opening and then you can get all these crazy weapon upgrades from killing enemys and you could use bombs but you only got like three unless you pick up more and you had to fight a giant boss at the end of every level and you flew jet fighter things?

yes its a vertical shooter.

Its not raiden, although that is a class game!

Raiden is too slow and the upgrades are not big enough.

I was looking for some kind of arcade hall of fame for top down shooters thought I might find it.

The more i think about it the more I think they were robot things rather than spaceship/jets

There was somethign like Raiden, or a sequal to Raiden.. Red and Blue flying car-like things with crazy addons. ie: Lightning powers and multi-bullets that filled half a screen with firepoweer etc... perhaps that was it?

What sort of powerups?

jeff

I've downloaded mame32 and all the game snapshots

Slowly going through them.

There are a couple of nearly but nots at the moment

Bermuda Triangle
Daioh

These are pretty cool games too

like Roy Walker says "Its good but not the one"

Was it one of the Pop and Twinbee games?

How 'serious' was the game? Any ideas on the bosses if any?

I always played some game like that on the MSX, and it rocked.
But it isnt the same game you're looking for.

Did you try other forums, I once posted somewhere and they found it really quick.
Like 2 months later the mame prog got released for GP32, it had a screenshot of
that game (penguin adventure).

You'll find it (eventually), sounds like a fun game.

Was it a game called "Equites"? This was a top down shooter in which you could change between being a robot or a ship at the touch of a button, various different power ups were available.

or failing that how about segas "Sonic Boom" another vertical scroller?
