I've had a request for a list of new games that will be supported in the next version of Mame.

Mame is after all owned by Franxis, so it's up to him what will actually go into the final version, but I've personally added support for the following games to my version of the source code. Hopefullly all of these will appear in the next release. (Sorry, but I can only give you the name of ROM files for now.)

ATARI ENGINE
/* Atari vector games */
asteroid
asteroi1
astdelux
bwidow
bzone
bzone2
gravitar
llander
llander1
redbaron
spacduel
starwars
tempest
tempest1
tempest2
temptube
empire
mhavoc
mhavoc2
mhavocrv
quantum
quantum1

/* Atari "Centipede hardware" games */
warlord
centiped
centipd2
milliped
qwakprot

/* Atari System 1 games */
peterpak
indytemp
roadrunn
roadblst

/* later Atari games */
eprom

CLASSIC ENGINE
/* Exidy games */
ripcord

DATAEAST ENGINE
/* Data East 16-bit games */
hbarrel
hbarrelj
midres
midresj

OTHERS ENGINE
/* UPL games */
ccastles
ccastle2

TECMO ENGINE
/* Tehkan / Tecmo games (Tehkan became Tecmo in 1986) */
teedoff

Not all of the above have been tested, all I can say at this point is that the source code seems to compile including these new games :p

Major Havoc

IMHO best Vector game ever, killed before it became popular.

Yipeee

I hope we see that release soon
:D

EDIT: also, didn't see Starwars listed as well Great stuff

Can you try playing Missle Command on your build.
If appears as if the track ball is reversed in the Franxis code.
Can you check it?
Thanks.

Already done :D

In fact I fixed it last night and the buttons are also swapped around to make more sense. Select is the left gun, B the middle gun and A the right gun.

starwars and tempest dont work

Yes they do.

Have you converted your roms with CLRmame?

Download CLRmame ... (google it) install, and follow the guide from CLRmame's site.

You need to install the mame034.dat (or whatever it's called ... it comes in the .rar for GP MAME 1.3) in the "dat" folder where CLRmame is installed.

It converts your roms to the version supported by GP MAME (0.34)

Hope that helps :)

Because it has everything you need to know, short of somebody on here doing it for him.

* Fully expects a PM asking for the converted ROMS *

;)

I don't understand all this, I just go into my garage and plug my GP32 in one of the 700+ circuit boards I've got from all the old arcade cabinets I used to own :D

Isn't this what everyone else is doing?

Older R0MZ are hard to find. Every site has the newest ones. I have had not much luck either. Once in a while you will find that the newer ones will work though.

:) i have the full set of the old ones :p (if you need to grab em check the hub section of my site)

dumping won't give you bad sets tho :( most of the old stuff is either mix + match of 2 romsets, or badroms which is why they were updated. and wasting half an hour dumping maskroms ain't fun :(
