How To (not) Break A Gp32

i droped my gp32 from the top of my shelf, say over 7 feet then hit my hard hard wooden floor, but my gp32 seemed be a ok, maybe its industructable?

i repeatedly drop mine on the floor,, butter fingers,, and i once threw it at a wall when i died on doom which broke the battery cover but thats it i think its a really sturdy piece of kit,, btw project ninja guys remeber i need 2 be able to drop my ninja without it breaking

my gp32 hit the ground and it still works,
i did it again and still no querks,
how ever water for it,
so if you water it your a twit,
the flu light some times not working,
so i just go and pickle some gerkins,
when i come back,
because it has a nack,
the flu light is once again working
Didn't the LCD mess up when your brother did a high-pitched scream into it, or some shit like that...

I say we experiment w/ what it can go through....

Good idea... Did you just volunteer for the first experiment? ;-)

I say we try my water-idea... Or find out how the GP32 handles microwaves.
right ive got a flu and a blu. someone send me a camera to film it and witness the destruction!

I only have 1 ggp32 so, no, and I just modded it to 166 w/ a pencil

I remember dropping a flu once or twice, and it still worked fine, but the battery lid wouldn't close anymore, so it had to be taped shut.

However, my BLU couldn't survive the deadly wrath of the soldering iron, and now refuses to read any kind of smc. Removing the smc socket completely allows the gp32 to bootup, but it's a bit useless without said smc slot...

Sounds like maybe something got shorted in your SMC device. Expecially since it was a soldering iron that did it.

Well anyway, I was sitting in my chair one day, and my FLU fell ALL THE WAY from my hands to my soft cushiony carpeted floor and worked fine still.

Man, that GP32 is one rock solid sturdy device! :)

That's actually the worst I've done to it so far.

I'd think the joystick would be fragile, but nothing bad's happened yet.

I'd think that as long as you don't pummel your Gp32 with a hammer for 2 hours straight, it'll be fine.

If you want it to survive don't listen to GPMAD in -35 degrees celsius as a note it works but when you press the R button to switch tracks it will break

The weakest parts are the D-stick, L & R buttons, and screen protector. Every thing else is sturdy. And the D-stick, L & R buttons, and screen protector are fixable.

You forgot the lid of the battery compartment. It seems to be the thing that always breaks first. I can already see a small crack on that hook that keeps the lid shut, it will probably break very soon. :-S

julius its easy to replace the screen with glass, do it. I have and so has nearly everybody who uses this forum. The reason I replaced mine is because I hated looking at my gp32 all scratched up. As you know it easy to scatch that screen, ever since I replaced it I have never looked back, its nearly impossible to scratch the glass replacement and makes the gp32 shine. Another uncanney benefit regarding the glass replacement is you dont have that urine look to your screen. The original has a yellow tint for blu and blue tint for the nlu/flu. It look so much nicer once you get rid of that tint, you wont beleive what a differance it makes.

Seriously it takes 5 minutes to do and costs you £5 from a bloke on ebay. Bargain !!!

my gp32 hasnt had any great drops yet, but i bought a brand spanking new pc engine gt in 1992 for £350 from a shop called microbyte, got it home and was so busy and engrossed playing gunhed i couldnt put it down, even for a toilet break. So there i am on the throne (who wouldnt feel like a king) bashing away (on the buttons of course) and when i stood up i put the GT on the toilet cistern lid and watched in horror as it slid off and fell down the toilet which i had just flushed! The GT blocked the pan up and it was totally submerged in water. Needless to say, it didnt work when i dug it out so the moral to this story is that shit happens :(
