Hey everyone, i bought a gp32 blu from lik sang just before christmas and have the Taiwanese screen. I have tried a number of emulators with the gp32 and they won't work properly. They just end up coming up with a loading screen when you choose the emulator, and then th gp32 main screen comes back on. I have even recently tried Dr MD Ver2.0 and the same happens there.

Can anyone please give me a list of the programs / games that work with the Taiwanese screen?!

Thanx in advance!

This has nothing to do with the Taiwanese screen.
This sounds like faulty files on your SMC.
How did you transfer the files? PC-Link? CardReader?

All emulators will start up on a BLU+ . Only the SNES emu has a bar but still loads. Are you sure you have all directories set up correctly?

Either the games are corrupt or your out of battery power, or its something else. Explain more and we can help.

Just recognized a very anoying bug according a card-reader: When the filename is longer than the 8.3 format (8 characters for the filename and 3 for the extension) it happens that the data on my SMC is corrupted. Just try to use GP32-Filemanager instead if things like that happens to you.

I remember having problems like that when I first tried my GP32 BLU

Then , I am not really sure , but I guess I just used a SMC which was already formatted by windows or my digital camera. After formating my SMC in the GP32 properly , everything worked just as it was meant to be.

I am in love with my GP32 :)

Thanx for so many replies :) , hopefully if i answer some of your questions you maybe able to help me a bit more:

* i formatted the card when i first bought it through the gp32 manager

* i transfered the files through PC-Link, as i don't have a card reader on my PC (although have one on my laptop if anyone thinks it may be the problem?)

* have put the emulators in the GPMM directory as they all mention

* i've replaced the batteries and that doesn't help, it still does the same

I'll format the card again and start from scratch and see if that helps tomorrow, but please if anyone can give me any more advice from ansering your questions please help, open to anything!

Once again thanx in advance

Hey, i've now formatted the card and then installed Dr MD Ver2.0 which is meant to be blu compatible, with a number of different games, however the same happens.

I turn on my gp32, choose play, it loads the black screen up with the picture of sonic for the emulator. i press start and it goes to a gp32 loading screen, i then here the ting that you get when you first turn the gp32 on and to gp32 start screen comes back on with the play / pc link options.

And this happens each time!

Can anyone please, please help????

You will need to press one of the buttons (A or B, can't remember which) to load the emulator. Maybe pressing Start is meant to restart your GP32.

:)

EDIT: Once you get DrMD loaded, you will need to change the screen type within the menu.

did you put all your rom files in files especialy for the roms for each emulator?

i.e. megadrive games in a "genesis" file, and snes games in "snes" file & so on & so forth? if not you need to make new files in gpmm for you roms.

hope i help
best of luck man, i'd be pretty gutterd if my geepee wouldnt work

First get a card reader. It is much faster and easier then messing with the link setup. They are so cheap that it should not be an issue.

Then try a different SMC or make sure it is formatted corectly. It sounds like the SMC got corrupt somehow if you are sure the batteries you put in are full power. Even though you put new batteries in they may not be good, especially if you have been using them in something else. The GP32 needs good quality batteries. If you use some dodgy brand even new ones may not work.

Thanx again for the replies, but:

* i've tried pressing A and B too, B just goes straight back to the main gp32 screen with out even bringing up a load screen but the A button brings up a load screen and then you hear the ting (same sound as when you first turn on your gp32) and then it brings up the main screen - the one with play or pc link options.

* i've tried with brand new sony and phillips batteries straight out of the pack

* i've put the rom fils in a folder that i named genesis as the emulator sugested

* i have a card reader on my laptop if anyone thinks that may help but i've been advised to use the pc link

Only thing i haven't tried is a new smc card, which maybe my only option, just a little reluctant to buy another one with not being able to use the gp32 at all yet incase it isn't the card - guess will have to and try that

- but please keep the suggestions coming while i try a new smc card!!

once again thanx in advance!

Okay, some infos:

* It's NOT a problem where you put the roms - cause the emulators would STARTUP but find no roms. As you go back to the menu screen, it HAS to be a faulty .fxe

* Don't use PC-Link - use the card reader. Just be sure to NOT format the SMC with your PC.
Now use the card reader and copy your FXE-Files onto the card into the GPMM directory.

Try it and tell us!

When I used the PC Link, lots of the files copied were NOT copied correctly. This happend especially when copying several files at once. But since I use a card reader, there is no problem at all.
You're problem howerver could also be a faulty RAM in your gp32_console
But first try to use a card reader.
