Some Interesting Psp Info, System Durability

yes even more reason to get a psp.

i might as well wait intill it come out in the uk, as they might try and make the battery life even stronger i hope.

only thing thats bad about the psp now is the fragilety of the console but then again thats why you get the rist strap.

thanks for all these great and helping tests youve done and told us about.

Your DS only gets 7 hours?

Serouisly, there's something very very wrong there. I get around 10 hours on Mario with the sound right up...

Still, great to hear that the PSP's battery isn't a big problem.

Well the batteries are probably the same rating, But could be different types, Such as NI-MH, Li-ion or even Li-polymer. The one that gives the best times could be Li-polymer, Where as the not so good one could be Li-ion or NI-MH.

Well, Just a thought.

Yeah they must have slightly improved the battery, which is really cool :) . Its amazing that its running 2 processors, a graphics chip, backlight, sound output, LCD screen, UMD drive and manages around 7 hours. I don't think people realise how battery efficient the PSP is. The Ipod only last for like 6 hours which is really crap.

as far as I can tell there is NO difference between the two batteries, externally they are exactly the same, and all the markings on them are the same... if Sony have improved them somehow they aren't making it obvious to anyone just by looking at it.

As far as my DS goes... I too thought there was something wrong with mine that it was getting such short battery life, since Nintendo have constantly claimed about 10 hours for the thing, but remember I bought TWO of them, on launch day so from the same batch, also, my best friend was there with us picking up one for himself on that same day. And we ALL THREE of us were getting around the same battery life, avg. 5-6 hours, playing almost exclusively Mario 64. So this isnt' just something wrong with my system.

Now I will say, a month later is when I exchanged my unit thru Nintendo, got it replaced due to two lit pixels, and I haven't really played the new one enough yet to see if the battery life on that one is any better.
