My new gp32 blu arrived today.

tbh I'm not happy, yes its lovely in the dark but it shows errors on many of my fave games/emus

The one pixel error isn't too bad and can be partly ignored but some have HUGE errors, not 1 pixel but almost half an inch of corrupt screen.  for example:  the genesis emulator.

I will try a few more things tonight but atm I'm not happy with it.

Why post this here ? If you arent happy with it then send it back to the company you got it from and get a replacement ?

The errors on the Genesis emulator just sound like perhaps an error in the emulator nothing to do with the GP32 itself ?

Plenty of people here are happy with them, sadly you will get some defective GP32's from companies but thats the way life is !

Sounds like you might have the BLU + ?

you got a gp32 with the new type of screen that dosn't work with older emulators. Most have fixed specificly the genesis emu drmd which you mentioned. There is an option in the emulator to make it work with the new screen. Insted of complaining on here give us some specific examples of emulators that you are trying to get to work and people can help you out.

Actually it sounds like he isn't setting the screen type correctly....

Someone didn't RTFM.

This is *exactly* what i'm sick of and why i'm considering dropping the gp32.

Just two points to make on this subject.

1. Can someone explain what RTFM is? Sorry but no idea, I know its going to be something obvious.

2. I bought a GP32 from Craig around Christmas, and I have never looked back. You shouldnt look at this system as a GBA (simple system a 3 year old can use), it needs research and understanding before you know your path. It took me a few days to get my feet on the ground, but after that I found that I possessed an amazing machine. Just have patience and read the faqs etc...

BTW, welcome to the club, may your stay be long and happy.

oh oh 3rd point.......

Craig, dont drop the Gp32, the world would be lost.

:D

C-16 I know. I've had one before and I loved it. my wife still has a non-flu and loves it.

rtfm is Read The Effing Manual

RTFM = Read The Fucking Manual.
Because if you would have read the readme.txt, you would know how to configure the emulator correctly instead of buggering us. And now bugger off :p !

Craigix , you should NOT drop the GP32 , it would be sooo sad !

I got mine from you 1 year ago and VERY happy with my FLU .
and the CD+the Flashed bios you were offering at this time surely rocked . This way I could use my gp32 just off the box !

update:

Things are working much better now and my 2nd problem seems to be better.

I was getting a 'click' when I moved the joystick from the top left to the bottom left. I'm not getting a click now, instead it feels like a little bump.. but no annoying noise.

I must add one thing that I forgot to add earlier (when I was confused)

I was most suprised with my gbax bundle. Last time I bought a gp32 I get a box, gp32, cd and cable. This time I had a 16mb mem card with a cool game on it, a brilliant cloth that cleans the screen far better than my old glasses cloth ever did and a remote link. I've yet to work out what it does as the manual is in japanese. oh and free batteries :D - thanks guys and sorry for moaning.

If Craig drops trhe GP32, then I will cry! Cos When I get back to blighty, and show my mates this, they are gonna be beating a track to his door!

So don't! Please.

And a nice bit of flaming there. Cheered me up!

:D

even if we only had drmd 2.0 and nothing else, the gp32 would still be an essential purchase and with 3.0 surely on the horizon and possible breakthroughs in snes emulation, who needs a PSP??

possible breakthroughs in SNES emulation?

huh? wha? is this confirmed? Someone is working on a new SNES emu?

As for DrMD, it's the emu i most use on my GP32. The others being LittleJohn, Castaway and Frodo.

Reesy said that he might have a look at it after he finishes his DrSMS emulator (which he hasn't begun porting yet). I'd say you'll have to wait a while, unless yoyo (the original author) comes back to it for some reason.
