My gp32 wont read one of my cards for some reason it reads the other two i have but it will not read this one ive tried reformating the card and it still doesnt work

any suggestions

p.s. my computer can read the card

Put Slubman Commander (its the FXE form of Slubman Firmware) on the working SMC and use it to format the other.

Blah, how do you format one card from another ?

I have a similar problem with one of my cards, which I formatted in XP, now the GP won't recognise it.

What Blah is refering to is that Slubmans firmware has a SMC formatting option. Obviously the firmware doesn't run from the SMC ;) Anyway your options to format the SMC are:
- usb cable using the official gp32 software,
- card reader using supported OS ( win98-win2k ie not XP )
- camera that takes SMC might be able to format it...

If you have no luck with any of them try my SMCrecover.zip utility which will work with a cardreader if your card is 128m ( http://l33t.spod.org/ratx/gp32/smcrecover/smcrecover.zip )

Cheers

Can't you hot-swap smc cards? Load from one, yank it out, bung the other one in and format it.

This may be a dumb question, but I think I saved my freelauncher from when I initially downloaded it.

It's a file called gp_launc.zpk

Is that FreeLauncher?

Yes, Hot swapping is ok to do (while the GP32 is still switched on), As long as the card is NOT being read from or written to. I do it all the time and have not lost a card or file off of a card yet (BANG!, There, i`ve done it now ).
