It's been a little while since the report of the updated version coming out... Still some bugs to fix?

I just want to be able to play final doom! Two 32 level episodes, *drool*.

Oh, and we need more brightness, at times the game is so dark it's gross.

Keep up the good work, I'm still playing the hell out of the latest release.

Increasing the brightness more causes the game to look wrong in very bright situtions, i'll have a go though.

The problem with the saves, which i've been able to slightly cure - and then make worse again, is a bug in the GCC IO lib which causes crazy things to happen if a file is over about 256k

I think i know a way to fix it, and also speed doom up another 20% and its called using ADS :)

I just have to find the time to do that.

And on another note the winner of the 15days comp WILL have a black gp32.

Err craig, I have a desperate problem. Your latest doom (v5) Didn't work on my GP. All others work fine??? I've got one of those fussy GP32's, well everthing else works fine except GPVSGB and now your latest GPDoom.

Apparently its something to do with 132mhz mode? But GPEngine and everthing else works so I don't know.

Ive searched the forum and knowone else has mentioned this problem ( basically after pressing 'play doom' it boots up, through all the dos commands and then crashes.)

Any ideas?

i find the brithness enough.
Doom is really very playable.
Thnx Craig for your work.

i'm in a hurry that you fix the saving pb.

A 20% speedup, you say?? Excellent! The only thing keeping Doom from being a permanent resident of my Smartmedia card is the choppy framerate.

Hey, I wonder.....if he gets the Doom engine up to 30 or even 60FPS, other companies might liscence his code to make games based off it. Look at Sonic Robo Blast 2: it shows that just about any kind of game can be made, and made well, using the now free Doom engine.

Rambozo,

If you don't think its playable as you say everytime doom is brought up, the source code is available for you to make it faster.

I really can't see what's wrong with the framerate. I'm framerate perfectionist on my PC and this port is spot on. I run it at high graphics and it never gets unplayable.

I played doom v5 for ages and never had a problem with the framerate

It aint no Unreal, but its perfectly playable (least till ye try and save and load later :p )

Would it be possible to raise the black level and change the gamma curve without changing the white level?

Means (for those not so fit with video signals): Brighten up all the dark areas without affecting the light ones.

I seem to have speed problems with the doom2 wad, but I think its because it has GL nodes built into it (I recompiled att the maps to be more optimised graphically)

My version of Doom works beautifully and obviously blows the GBA version out of the water. In addition to the save problem;which is clearly recognised; what is the news if any on a game select from the options screen? I have Doom 1 and 2 on my SMC and would like to be able to select at will. Is this option in the offing? Many thanks anyhow and keep the good work going!

just wanna say cheers to craig for all the time and effort he has put into the doom port, i think it's spot on, just can't stop playing it !
