ok...i gave up on trying to make the gp32 manager work (as i mentioned on my other post i took a long time trying...did everything i could possible image...i guess...)...but now...it seems like in this computer/tech world nothing goes 100% all the way right :(

i am having a new problem...well actually two...but they are related i think...

i want to place some mp3 music on the gp32...i already read arround here (sorry i am a newbie) and got the gpcinema installed and i am able to access it ok. so, since my gp32 manager doesn't work, i have to drag the music onto the mp3 folder...and i am making sure that the file name is not to long...i usually use a 4 letter word to name the mp3. the mp3 plays ok on my cpu...but i can't seem to play on the gp...sometimes i see the music there listed, when i click on it nothing happens...then sometimes i can only see the mp3 throught the explorer.

am i saving the mp3 in the right spot? inside the mp3 folder right? am i doing the renaming fine? per what i read it can't be longer then 8 characters i think...

so what would i be doing wrong? the games work...but no mp3...can this be a problem on how these mp3 are coded? i know with videos you have different codecs etc...but i thought an mp3 is just an mp3 right?

i would really appreciate some input here...please?

PS> i mentioned i had two problems that they might be related on the top of this message....but i think i will try to resolve this mp3 one first and then go to the next step.

thank you all kindly...carapalida.

let's see. you're using gpcinema to listen to your mp3's right?
give it another try with an another mp3 player
like gpmadmp3.

also if you're having problems with uploading files to your smc's try using gpdrive. it's faster, no character limit and a lot practical than gpmanager software.

I agree, SVOrbis rules. OGGs are good quality in a small file size. You can fit about 3 moderate sized albums onto a 64mb card (Tenaious D was 17mb for the whole album :D ). Use a program called DBPoweramp to convert any music file to OGG (you also need the ogg vorbis codecd installed).

hummm...i am confused...so how come gpcinema has a feature there to play mp3? i got the gpcinema from here...in the download section...

wow...and i spent hours last night trying to get this music thing to work with gp cinema...because it shows a feature there that says MP3...so i assumed it played mp3.

i installed the gpmad one and it is the bomb...it worked right away.

so...let me double two things with you all...this is the best player out there for gp32?

it will let me organize my playlist and rename things just like an IPOD would...showing the name of the song...artist...album...will let me make folders and organize the music there...etc? (of course i know the gp32 is not like an IPOD).

cool...i have to play a little bit more with it...i just tried ONE song...i got discourged after hours last night with the gpcinema...

but i can use gpcinema for movies right? and is this the best movie player for the gp? it said on the board...the only one :)

thank you all again..
