Hi there, can anyone help I got a new gp32 Blu and have flashed the original firmware with one that was on the data disc supplied with it, The file is called firm_en.fxe, the problem is I now have a grey and black line across the upper part of the screen that won't go away!!! I know I have been very silly but can anyone tell me how to go about restoring the original Firmware ? ps can you play Mpeg File on the gp32 if so how ?
Many Thanks
Steve...

If you can still run software on your BLU, then you can restore the firmware as the official BLU firmware has been posted here. However, if all you get is the grey and black line and nothing else (not able to load anything), then all you can do is buy a JTAG adaptor and reflash that way.

Thanks Squidge, I have downloaded a file called taiwanBLU, However I can't work out where to put the file, I have tried putting it into the main Game file(the one where I initally put the other firmware) but it won't copy, it will copy into the SMC but does'nt appear to appear in play mode, ps everything else works fine, dr md emulators etc...
Thanks Again
Steve

I think it is now time for Craig to get rid of the BLU firmware from a BLU+ Purchase...

Basically:
Gamepark have made changes to the hardware of the original Gamepark BLU in displaying stuff on the LCD.
We have called the new BLU's with these changes BLU+'s.
Lots of programs/firmwares and games (etc...) which were written for standard Gamepark BLU's/FLU's/non-FLU's will not work on the new BLU+'s until they are rewritten.
This means that the majority of Firmwares here will not work on BLU+'s yet.

The firmware which was on the disk GBAx.com supplied you with was for a standard BLU, while yours is (very) likely a BLU+.
That is why you are seeing a grey and black line.

You will have to reflash the original BLU+ firmware onto your Gamepark.

The Firmware can be found here:
Here.
You will have to flash using this guide.
MAKE SURE YOU USE NEW BATTERIES!

If as you said you can not load any programs on your GP32 you will have to flash using a JTAG cable.
These are hideously difficult to get hold of, (usually you have to make one yourself).

You will most likely be able to find someone to help you out here (or who you can borrow one off).
Or you could complain to Craig, if he hadn't warned you of the consequences of flashingyou BLU+ with the BLU firmware on his supplied disk.

<...few>

edit: it seems everyting else is working fine and you will not need a JTAG cable (thank god!)...

BTW: In a few hours I'll upload a BLU+ version of Aquafish's Multifirmware onto the GP32x File Archive.

Stay tuned :)
(Yes, it has been tested on an actual machine and it is working!)

Yaaay!
Hey if I was you celicaslc I would use this firmware when it has been uploaded as it is second best from Slubmans GODLIKE firmware (Which a new version will be coming out of soonish I think).

EvilDragon is this new version made by Aquafish or has it been hacked somehow?

P.S. I don't actually own a BLU+ so that is not actually real excitement.

Well, i just flashed my GP32 for the first time to Slubman's Firmware, and wow! What a difference!

i beleve i can fix most of the incompatible firmware (screen bar problems)

so i dont think haveing a total recode of all firmware programs is needed....

Hello, my name boskrv, i'm a new registered on this site, but i've gp

I had the NLU (no light unit :) ), i've sold it, and now i have the BLU+
It' s me who had "beta-tested" the new aquafish firmware, and it's pretty cool !!!!
Don't hesitate, download it !!!!

Thanks to Aquafish for his speed, because it's me who has friendly ask her if he can do something for the BLU+ owners, like translate his MFW, (in first, to have wind-ups on gp boot :) ) and he has did it for the day after !!

I hope that many authors will adapt programsto run correctly on the new screen, like aquafish !!
Scuse me for my bad english and how long my post is, but it's my first here...

I Followed all the instructions for your new BLU AQUAFISH MULTIFIRMWARE and all I am left with is a message on my gp32 saying "Done you now reset your Gp32 ! " Any ideas what to do next the grey and black bars are still there and there is a small mixed up picture in the upper left corner of the screen!!

Hmm... that looks like anything REALLY went wrong...
Were the batteries FRESH?

Looks like now you REALLY need someone with a JTAG cable to fix the GP :/

Ha Ha, I seemed to of got rid of the new multiware that I put on this morning by simply deleting it via the card reader/writer that was supplied with gp32, however, I still seem to have the problem of the black and grey bars at the top of the screen, everything else is working ok though, can anyone give me some step by step instructions in laymans terms for installing the new BLU+Multiware as I could'nt get my head around the instructions supplied with the download.

Many Many Thanks from a keen gp 32 newbie
In Total Despair!!!!!!!

Wow, I was looking forward to flashing my BLU+ with this, but now I'm not so sure. o_o;

And yeah GBAX really shouldn't send out BLU only programs on the CD, especially firmware! I was lucky I got my BLU+ back to normal when I flashed firmware from it. A little warning about the BLU+ issues would have prevented a lot of stress.

BTW Celicaslc, might sound stupid, but try leaving the unit off for more than 10 seconds before turning it back on. Takes a while for the ram to clear or something, if you turn it back on straight away you might just be seeing what was in the video memory before you switched off or something like that. (I get it a lot when rebooting quickly on my BLU+).

edit: okay, guess it never actually got flashed then ??
