Ipod Clone Serves As Temp Storage For Gp32

I have a medion laptop (on it right now) and Graphics tablet A4

Best Deal ever, I even thought I'd lost my stylus and phoned them but they don't sell them seperataly so the guy sent the one he had in his hand out to me...before chrismas they said.

Maybe I'll buy one of these and do the same with the cable...

I'm tempted to buy one now because I've been thinking of getting an I pod.
How do you find it as an MP3 player?

200 euros is how much?

And why did the cable have the same end as gp32?!

What do you access it with on the GP. Gplinux?
Or do you use GPdrive and the mp3 player detects the GP as a hdd drive.
And it needs no power?

EDIT: I found it out.

Exactly how big is it? I might buy one and put it in the back of my
GP carrying case. It would be f**ing awesome if programs are made to
access files directly off this thing...It must have faster read/write times than the SMC. And where can I order it (I live in the US, am nowhere near an "Aldi").
How much does it cost in US $ ?

200 euros is is just over £150, cheaper then an I pod...
It's only available on the german site (www.medion.de)
But I'm phoning the hotline tomorrow to try to sort out freezing problems with my laptop, may get it replaced, but they only do ones with 40gb harddrives and alot cheaper to, so maybe I can get the mp3 player as a bonus/external harddrive. I could just be dreaming but they are an overly helpful company....

EDIT:Try the site, maybe they can ship.

220 euro's = 294.55$

On the US Ebay, the only one is a 128mb one. The bid on it is $70
I don't think so ;) I might look for another product with this feature...Maybe some kind of HDD enclosure that can do it (I have an old 2.5 gigger I'd use for that).

www.medion.com main site
www.medion.de german

The German Site is the only one I saw it on, but I only looked on the Uk and German one....

It's Called Tragbare MP3 Jukebox 220 MD 95206
It plays WMA files as well as MP3 but says nothing on ogg

EDIT: "this is a reply to a post that doesn't exist falken did you delete your post

maybe a bug...

I think there is impossible to buy an medion MD95200 on Medioin site because it's only for deutschland :(
And ALDi hasn't online store then.. it's dead !

And the ebay is maybe the only alternative but it's + 25€ then.. i prefer to wait this Player in my country..

Friggin awesome
ok, so let me get this right...
I can have just the MP3 player and the GP32 and the cord, and using a app on the MP3 player, I can copy things to the gp32 using GPDrive and then use slubman firm to delete things???

If so, do cheaper units exist with like, 5 gig of space that can work the exact same??

this is awesome! might have to get the cheapest one and attach it to my gp32

I'm phoning the hotline tomorrow to ask about it. they seem to have exclusive stuff for each country. And Release things Exclusivly to shops too like my laptop is 4 months old and still better then anything on the site.

What Country are you in I'll ask about shipping if you like

if you guys like that you will love this,, same idea, no lead just chuck smart media card in n copy across,, http://www.expansys-usa.com/product.asp?code=113338
,, not actually sure if that works but thats wat it looks like.. anyone confirm???

As far as we know, This will never work, It seems as though you can copy stuff, Pictures etc off of flash cards, But there is no option to copy them back. It has to be synced with a computer to retrieve the stuff back off of the device.

would this have the potential to allso increase the gp 32 memory in the way simular to windows does it with a page file, if the hdd in it is fast enough it should have real potential, think of the programs that could be loaded using this idea?

Steve

what would be even cooler is if you could have something like this with a mp3 player than can transfer files across bluetooth and have it use the new bluetooth accessory for gp32
then that would be a completely wireless solution

Am I missing something here??

Rather than buying a gp32 (suited to playing emulated games) and an ipod clone (suited to playing music) in order to play longer videos + have more roms.. would it not be better to buy a portable video player with a 20gig hard drive. I mean they're not expesive these days, they're suited to the purpose and I'm sure the video quality is a lot, lot better than what you'd get on a gp32.

Why walk around with 2 devices connected by a cable?? Or even shell out to buy a music player so you can watch longer videos.

It's like the equivalent of shelling out for a portable cd player with a cassette interface for old car stereos and then inserting that into your walkman and walking around listening to it.

??? You dont walk around with 2 devices connected at the same time.... and can a Portable Movie player emulate SNES, Genesis, SMS, Etc Etc Etc???? This IPod clone external HDD is only being used so far to copy upto 128mb to the SMC... Imagine saving all the latest GP32 programme's / Emulator's / Game's, Nearly Every ROM for the emulators, All your encoded Films, and have room for a few hours of music

You would only realy need 1 x 128MB SMC Card...

Make folders on the Device (If possible) like -

SNES - And put the SNES Emu on and Fill it with SNES Roms upto 120MB (To allow room for saving)
Genesis / Megadrive - And Put the Gen Emu and Fill it up with Roms
Etc Etc Etc
*Insert Name of Film here* - Put GPCinema and the Film into this folder
etc etc etc

then you can just transfer the console from the MP3 player to the GP32
