I was playing a few footy games last night and noticed something weird.

Both Fifa international soccer and dino dinis soccer suffer from total CPU player madness.

The CPU players just head straight for the ball then the goal. I realise this is the nature of the beast but its like time sync between thoughts and actions has been removed(not sure I'm making sense yet)

I played italy Vs Scotland on fifa and scotland were 2 goals up in under a minute.

Games speed seems normal but there may be a missing link between what we're seeing and what the cpu is doing.

I'll try some later versions of Fifa and test this some more.

Another thing I noticed is some corruption in Dino Dinis soccer (sorry to harp on but I love this game) dodgy pixels in amongst text.

The options in the main options menu before a match you cant change any options.
scale/scanner/sounds/menu music/menu effects

can someone else perhaps test some of the above also please??

my favorite Megadrive game of all time has a major bug, College Football National Championship, any play that involves the football going through the air will not work. The ball just lays on the ground under the quarterbacks feet, or when kicking, the kickers feet. Running the ball works fine.

Right.

Looks like this wasnt down to a cyclone bug

have a look at

I posted this on Dino Dini's forum.

And got a reply from the man himself :)

In short.........

The version of Dino Dini's soccer for the megadrive has problems with emulators.

There is a Dino Dini modified version that runs on Gens (multiplayer support also through kaillera)

This is available through Dinos Forum and runs without problems on DrMd

if you've never played this and like footy games I'd recommend it.

I used

ddsoccer_goal_8169_2004.bin

but there is another bin in there. Dunno what that is.

HURRAH FOR DINO!!

HURRAH FOR REESY!!
