So, USPS dicked me around some more, but I finally got my BLU.

Right off the bat, I was very happy, as the place I ordered from (goldenshop.hk) had actually sold me the same package Lik Sang were selling, that is to say, they included a dungeon and guarder SMC, and the RF link, for free... even though their webpage does not state anywhere that these items would be included.

So, kudos to them. I will also say, they have just been very cool to deal with the whole time, responding promptly to emails and such.

The bad news... I got a 10/10/2004 version, a.k.a. the taiwanese version, a.k.a. the damn dodgy blue line units. I was kinda surprised as I figured this place being a smaller place maybe didn't sell a lot of blu's, for them to have the new ones. Ah well....

So now I wait patiently for a fix with the rest of you.

Oh and by the way, the yellow tint of the BLU plastic screen cover is VERY noticeable and annoying!!!!

no 166mhz for me either... tried it in gpengine and locked up after less than a minute.

you mean the little removable piece of plastic they put on there for shipping?

ah, throw that thing away. I know, I kept mine on there for like a good year (until I lost it on a flight or something). I was pissed at first but it's been so long and I keep the damn thing in a case anyway so the screen is still not scratched/dirty and looks much much better w/out it..!

It would make sense or they really want to compete with them as direct as possible.

funny though they sold me one when lik sang says they are unavailable.

Also, lik sang did not want to take my credit card as payment.

Well I figured it was a very good chance I'd get one of the 'faulty' units.

I'm happy to say though that so far just about everything that *I* personally wanted to use on the thing (GPEngine, DrMD, Little John, Doom V8, quite a few of the homebrews) work fine, with at most a few glitchy lines at the very bottom of the screen.

I dont know if I'd ever be interested in some of those programs that I have seen have the problem, like the older computer system emulators (Frodo or whatever), but then I think... I have a feeling I am missing some very good games that I never even knew about on those older systems.

Oh and I was wrong, my system does seem to OC to 166mhz okay... I haven't tried it for 15 mins straight or anything yet, but I've been playing 166 on GPEngine and it seems to work fine, locked up once but not since then.

SUCKS that I missed the new DrMD today and ended up flashing the old one!
