I am new to this forum and am considering getting a GP32 unit (with christmas money+my money), and am hearing that GBAx is a good place for getting units, but I hear somewheres about people getting GP32's that for some reason wouldn't work with Frodo (C64 emulator).

That is the main reason I want the GBAx (for C64 emulation), and secondarily an MP3 player to boot. I am basically wondering:

1: Where is the best place for getting a Cheap GP32,
2: The place with the highest chance of getting a working GP32,
3: The place with the best delivery quality/speed,
4: (this is a C64 emulator question) how much of the C64's functions are emulated? (Disk Writes? Disk Reads?, etc...)

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Draconis

Wait for the PSP to be released in more places. Then you will find some BLUs on ebay, that is the best chance.

LIK SANG !!!

So has anyone had problems with getting a GP32 from there?

and on this post: 'Bad Blu's, How Long Are They Out', post #11, what is the 'D&G / RF-Link Bundle'?

And it's ONLY the BLU's that have the problems? If so, then what is the Main difference between them (speed wise). I can live w/o a backlight myself...

Try getting a FLU from Lik-Sang,
they don't have the screen problem and are cheaper
~$130 I think

D&G stands for Dungeon and Guarder Which is a beat-em up type commercial game.
RF-Link is a wireless link for GP32 to GP32 (wireless link cable) to play multi-player games

EDIT: Frodo runs C64 very well I had one in my early childhood and almost all the games I remember playing then work fine now. The only reson all of them don't work is because I don't remember how to launch one of the file types I have as I just use the quick launch feature in Frodo to skip past the typing portion

FLU-Front lit unit
BLU-Back lit unit

BLU's look nicer like a laptop screen
FLU's look fine but aren't as nice - like a GBASP

I think that most FLU's are actually faster out of the box though but I could be wrong

Heck... If that's the difference, then I guess I'm getting a FLU (but will still keep an eye on the BLU units to see if they fix the problem)

So how long does it take a supplier like lik-sang to send a unit to the USA?

Why are you asking so many stupid question that you know the answers to? Ande the flus are 180 now because lik-sang is trying to scam the shit outa every one cause there blus arnt working.

Well I'm sorry that I'm asking supposed 'stupid' questions that I 'know' the answers to, but I'm just making sure I don't buy something that will have that dumb white line error, or that it will take like forever to recieve. I'm just doing research to decide where and what to buy!

I don't see what's so wrong in that...

leave the noob alone
he had a right to not search because all this damaged BLU ( which he mentioned, so he did search some ) buisness changed a good part of the scene ( when it comes to buying a gp23 anyways )

I think that eventually I will pick myself up a FLU and start moving up the GP32 food chain

by the by, I got my NonFLU off of Ebay, and its still in great shape, OC's to 166 ( about 5/8 GP32's do that ) and was fine, and was used
screen was fine till I got it and now theres some smudges on the corners I cant get, but its myfalt
