Should I Get A Flu Or Blu?

I heard that FLU usually overclock higher than BLUs but BLUs have a better screen. Are BLUs fast enough to play Megadrive/Genesis (and SNES for that matter) games at full speed or should I get a fast FLU?

Get a BLU. What good is it if stuff runs faster but the screen looks like shit? Most stuff is made to run at 166 or less anyway. The FLU looks awful, I had one. The colors were much too washed out, the lighting uneven, the black level terrible, and has dust in the screen that lights up like a Christmas tree on the FLU.

No brainer: definitely a BLU!

The screen is miles better (brighter, crisper, less washed-out) for a very limited amount of extra cash, and it's fast enough in most cases knowing that overclocking limits are a bit of a lottery.

I had both: my FLU overclocked only to around 150 when the screen front light was OFF, and pretty much never beyond 133 with the front light ON (and it was always on to see anything). Plus the little handmade FLU switch at the back of the console is not that slick (compared to the "hold select button for 5sec" on BLU) and got stuck in most cover cases as it's sticking out at the back.
My BLU goes up to 166+, unfortunately not much higher with most apps... still better than my FLU though, but I might have been unlucky.

Like I said, just for the screen: BLU rules.

BLU if you want quality... But you need to have the Back light on all the time when playing (As the screen is too dark if you dont)

FLU if you want speed

I have a BLU and FLU and damn, the screen is nice on the BLU :)

Get the FBLU It runs at the speed that a flu can run but has the screen of a blu, JK anyways  ... Definitly get a BLU. ;)

It was only speculation that the BLU ran slower then the FLU, it's never been proven though. If you want security, get an overclocked one from GBAx.com

No there are no BLU's that can run over 180mhz (as far as I know, Craig?)
Yet some people here have FLu's that run upto about 250mhz.
However this isn't particularily useful as I don't think any software has been made for BLU's of this speed...

I Got a modded 166 BLU from GP32z.com and I can play
SNES and Genesis Perfectly fine at that speed and it was only
$15 more for a guarenteed 166 MHz.

Its pretty much fullspeed at 133 on all the games ive tried.

But you pay for what u get, and if you got the money then you should buy it.

the sound isn't full speed on the later sonic games at 133mhz...
btw. its a load of crap about fluys being faster, my blu does 180 mhz and wasn't modded, i just bought a standard 133mhz model
