HL2 Might be better but, I will be playing GTA SA Much more than HL2,

But atleast Rockstar Games sticks to release dates :p

HL2 was suposed to be out 2 years ago wasnt it ??

ppl that are waiting to download GTA: SA , It is going to be released on DVD9 Discs so if you only have a DVD5 burner, you might have to get a RIPPED version of the game.

Unless its just get Dummy Files to make it DVD9 that can be removed to make it DVD5...

what's it matter about release dates, imo i think it's better to keep pushing the release date back to get the best out of a game than to rush for a release date and the game being crap

yes, but it just annoys people and makes them use there saved up money on other games, Like DOOM 3 etc etc.

Anybody that claims that they don't just go around exploding cars after playing GTA2/3/VC for 10 minutes either is a liar or has patience of steel.
Quit trolling for fuck's sake. That's a ridiculous assertion, disproved by people's comments here, game reviews by both professional journalists and ordinary gamers on hundreds of websites, and the abundance of strategy guides, FAQs and discussion surrounding the game ... and you know it.
I wasn't trolling; I assumed it was the case because it's what happened to me, and many of my friends just did the same.

I gotta agree with LHC, lets say 30% of people such as yourself play the game through to completion

Lets say the remaining 70% are cheating little scumbags that go around invicible blowing things up

When GTAVC cam out (I think i was in Yr11 at the time) nearly everyone I knew with a PS2 got it, they continued to talk about what the blew up, what cheats they were using. Never once did anyone say "Hey I got paseed xxxx level today"

you must have went to one of those special schools. everyone i talked to was like "have you got to the part with such and such". sure its fun to go around and blow stuff up but are you saying those same people didnt play the game to completion? shit, did you not look at your minus score from using all those cheats and think "wow, i really suck at this game", my mate did, so he went back and completed the game without cheats, do you think he would have done that if it wasnt fun? the only other games i know of that he has enjoyed nearly as much and played as much were starcraft and champ man. i can honestly say i didnt use cheats in the game because its easy enough that you dont need to.

Noone said that it was too difficult to play without cheats, rather that it can only keep you occupied for so long and then you just go around summoning flying tanks and blowing up cars.

I think bringoutthegimp is right on the thread for once with the special school comment. I've talked to lots of people who play VC and they do bother with the missions. Maybe it's because they have an attention span longer than five year old's, I don't know. The plot isn't that bad, I actually played in part to see how it progressed.

Some missions were hard - I kept at it for the challenge. Hard missions in games aren't anything new. Of course some missions were really hard. I stopped replaying those. Currently I'm at about 55%. So mattmagoo I haven't actually played it to completion. Especially 100%; I haven't got the time for it.

But the missions provide a varied and enjoyable selection of things to do, from shooting, sniping, drive-bys, stealing cars, car chase scenes and simple 'point A to point B' stuff, collecting items, time limits and races. I must be the reverse of you and your friends, LHC, because I get bored of shooting a few cars, shooting some cops, and dying with six stars. Blowing stuff up, especially with cheats on, gets boring fast. Missions are usually original, have a backstory, and are fun.

I'll make one exception: gravity hacking is consistently amusing, but it's not part of the game. You need the PC version and a seperate program called 'gravmod' to do it.

I think you can make flying cars etc on the PS2 version. I've only played the PC version, but my mate was talking about how he got a tank to fly.

I think part of the problem for me is that it is too open ended, and too much of a free for all. While I never found this to be a problem playing the Elder Scrolls games, it made GTA VC lack direction.

I just read page 4 and Im not sure why plp are arguing about an opinionated subject.

I only have two pages here. I suggest you go to your settings and make it so that you have it set to 40 posts per page, as this is a far superior number for viewing large threads.
