Voltagemod

If you have done a voltage mod to your GP32, how high is the CPU core voltage ?

I´m asking this, because i recently vmodded my GP32 myself. Before it, the CPU voltage was 1,76V and i managed to get a frequency of 166 MHz. After it, i had a voltage of 1,96V and i managed to get 172 MHz about 40 seconds before it crashed. This is a bit disappointing for me (especially since it was a big trouble finding those SMT resistors in 0803 (or so) format. Is this normal, should i have modded it to 2,10V to get reliable 180 MHz or is my gp32_console just not overlockable any more for any other reason?

I did the mod with something like 1.96V and I can go up to 224MHz
I think it is quite enough but I would have been pleased to go up to 256...

see you

Doesn t it depends of the quality of your ram as well?

We have found that some BLU's will not go above about 172mhz no matter how much power you give.

Getting a 180mhz GP32 is very rare indeed even with a VM, that is why there is still a backlog of orders.

Lucky!!!!
Mine overclocks only to 154mhz :(
But I don't think I'm going to mod it, maybe when I have it a year or so

if we replaced the ram on the board with brand name ram, same size, and got a voltage mod, then would we be able to go higher?
or is there a restriction

No, it's the limit that's safe for the arm chip, not the ram.

Theres no point in replacing the 8MB Ram with another 8MB... You might as well replace it with 32MB :p

I will, eventually
I have a list saved in my gp32x notepad......

Things to do to my gp32

Make a stand for gp32 that allows horizontal and vertical AND can have a power plug, USB cord , extension cord, headphones, all at same time

Get 4-8 AA rechageable 2300mah or higer rechargables - Radio shack power bank charger

Get a glass screen

Get a Chatboard

Get a 128mb card

Add a new plug in the case straight from battery compartment to the oustside of case for a light

Make a light to snap on or stay with gp32 ( velcro? )

Paint with plastikote paint ( not silver or gold or metalic color )

Add a USB femal incase and wire it to the current USB so all needed is a powered Hub

Do the 32meg Ram Mod ( last project )

Overclock Mod ( last project )

my gp32 will be big pimpin!
just need that new solderin iron and dry air solder'r
