It's bestowed upon those found to be worthy. The exact specifics are shrouded in secrecy, but usually involve a brown envelope stuffed with used notes...

:D

making a decent cobtribution to the scene, usually you're nominated.

Does Making and Selling Chatboards to GP32 Users count?? thats contributing to the Scene :D

Can I be a Guru for that, or is it Software wise??? 20 More people have chatboards now because of me lol (And maybe more in the future when I get time) :D

Nah, you need to do something interesting, like make an adaptor which turns a 256mb SD-card into 2 SMC's with automatic switching.

Lol, that would be hella nice.

Yeah my belief still stands. Only programmers should become Gp32 Gurus.

i dunno, originally i thought of the guru badge as a distinction of someone who really knows the gp32, someone who can always help out and lend a hand.

now however i think people like mark are just as justified in earning guru status as any of the coders.

The guru badge is for people who REALLY do know the GP32 and are HELPFUL to the people here.
So you don't need to be a dev, but it's mostly devs who DO know the GP32 and ARE helpful.

If you are helpful without being a dev, you'll become one.
If you are a dev but aren't helpful, you won't become one.

It's that easy.

mattmagoo did Pintsized and isn't a guru yet mr Mark did GPmag(can't remember the actual name, sorry mark) and hes a guru, don't take that off mark because mark helps all the time.

can i have an asian invasion guru badge, coz im asian and i know more about the gp32 than any other person at my school :D :p

joking.....

.....or am i?

btw, why was pinkspider's guru badge removed?

Because he got it by accident (had more than 2000 posts, and the board was misconfigured that everybody with more than 2000 posts became a guru ;))
