It might just be me being dumb - But it linux any use yet, read all the forums on the new release and does it do anything yet ?

If it does then what ?

A PDF reader would be great...............

Well, the current releases include a HTML viewer, and a Flash player. They're working on a PDF reader, but it's having some mem problems.

Personally i thjink they should concentate moe on optimizing he code that they already have, and making it more user friendly.

i've been messing around with it a little today

being completely inept at this sort of thing i failed miserably at getting either the html or flash programs to run, but i did get the kernel to load and a desktop to appear with a few programs running.

tbh, theres not really much that needs to be improved in terms of GUI or usability, the biggest hurdle is going to be getting the whole thing to a point where a complete newbie can download a .zpk of linux and then be able to launch it like they would anything else.

as the flash player and html viewer are completed i believe we will be presented with a highly competent alternative to wind-ups with an even greater selection of programs. i'm confident that the devs will come up with text editor, pdf viewer, image software, web browser, flash player and a myriad of other things that can be used on the gp32

So does that mean that the hundreds of X applications available ought to work? I'd love to have a game of XPilot on my GP32...
Yeah what stops us from just using 1 of these programs.

what has to be changed.
do they have to be recompiled.

Just had a bit of a browse for Nano-X and it looks like it's a porting job, although it doesn't sound too difficult...

My next question is, assuming an X11 app is ported to Nano-X, will it run under GPLinux or is there more involved?
