Duke Nukem Mobile

The main impediment is that they build the game using XForge 3d engine, which is available for everything but GP32. So they would either need XForge ported (not likely), or they'd need to write it to use another 3d engine that they can in turn port to GP32. Lots of work and.. not likely.

they don't sound to interested though :(
I don't know so much about uninsterested as simply an idea they hadn't come across before. But I suspect, as Skeezix says, once they find the Xforge3D engine isn't available, I doubt they'll bother. Which is a shame...

As you all may know Duke Nukem Mobile recently got its release on the Zodiac, I was looking at the screens and feeling a bit jealous, so I emaied MachineWorks (The Game makers).

Heres what I sent them:
Dear MachineWorks NorthWest,
I am wondering if you have considered porting  Duke Nukem Mobile for Tapwave to the GamePark GP32 handheld console? You can find information about this console a www.gbax.com. I am sure it would be capable of Duke Nukem, with a few cut downs.
                               Fionntan McNeice.

And heres what they replied:
Dear Sir,
we have not considered a GP 32 version.

We will investigate.

- Machineworks

So thats a no then  , ah well you would never know.
I wouldn't be TOO jealous. They say that the framerate gets choppy when you use full screen mode. The levels are empty looking. Plus you can beat the game in 30 minutes! A complete ripoff for $30.00 Bah..

Could the gp32 not run the XForge Engine? Or is it a commercial product?
It could but it would have to be ported. Yes it commercial. Since it runs on cellphones the GP 32 could run it.

The doom engine is open source, just look at the Duke3d mod for it and you can see its very much capable of that kind of game.
