Can Any One Tell Me How To Make Mutiplayer?

I'm pretty sure he has coded it but it wont be for a while that its in a release since it has not been tested on 2 real GP32s, if he wins the extended compo then we will be able to have multiplayer soon cause he will have 2 GP32s.

No he apparently has multiplayer code, as rlyeh was going to use it but it was never sent to him. You can try mailing pirotic but I doubt you'll get anything if rlyeh didn't.

Edit: I think it was for multiplayer over the internet btw.

Edit again: I'm an idiot. Didn't see this was the gigas forum so it's obviously relating to the game. Sorry blind.

Hiya,

i put some frame-work in for RF multiplayer support (the entity code supports multiple players controlling different entitys) but as i dont have a second GP32 i can't get around to coding/testing the RF stuff, need to get a second RF lead too i suppose.

as for internet play, i wrote a quick visual basic app a while ago which relays information either from a connection (via winsock) to the internet, or by data DDE'd to it via another app which is then passed down the USB cable to the GP32 with a little protocol i made up. You need to incorp a small bit code into your app and then you have a method of getting data from the internet for your GP32 :)

its very much a gimmick, but it could be used to allow gp32 programs to check and download updates. I was also going to code a PC app which uses your hard-disc as a sort of 'virtual SMC' (so you dont need a SMC in the GP32) but i couldn't figure that out so gave up on it (not to mention when i installed visual studio .net it didnt like all my old VB6 stuff).

hope that clears it up :)

can't remember rlyeh asking for any code, but my memory is **** so he might of done. if i ever get a second GP32 i'll get the RF stuff coded and released via open source so other people can incorp RF linkup without all the faffing about i've had to go thru, its not so much hard to code - just very difficult for most coders without all the bits and bobs.

Yeah, read the Hooka's interview with him. Might be nice to send it him now :).

lol, oops! <feels guilty> i've just sent him a message on IRC.

with smaller projects i tend to get bored very quickly and just forget all about them :(

A web Browser would be way cooler than usb internet play though. ;)

Pirotic, are you planning on enableing the PC editor to play the games?

If you did this, then you could have multiplayer over the net!

Uhuh, when i port it to PC it'll have multiplayer via the internet.. but the GP32 version still has alot of work which needs to be done on it first so no point talking about the PC version just yet :)

How much are rf links? GIve me some time to earn money so I can give it to you to get one and I hope you win the extended compo as Then I will play multiplayer gigas on the gp32s I will have! This would be so cool playing it across the room in an english lesson!
