great news, I heard this supports background pictures. How cool would that be!

Will there be a problem flashing it to an old gp32 (like when you hold down select for more than three seconds?

You can just rip the menu part and run it on your gp without having to flash it. Looks like eurofw to me

If you want to try a background image, put a bmp (not rle encoded) called skin.bmp into gpsys. Be warned though - it doesn't actually work very well unless you keep most of the image white and just put a logo or something into the bottom right corner.

The BMP must be in GP32 default palette ?

I really dig this firmware. Let's me run my commercial and homebrew games with one firmware, loads everything really quickly, and has a nice menu and presentation. I'm flashing to this.

I have put a background in my GP32 Flu with the new firmware. It uses the WINDOWS palette. It must be 320x240 BMP, but you must modify the image with some white squares to fit the options "PLAY" and "PC LINK", and also in the bottom to fit the same words which appear when you select the option.

I'll made some backgrounds for you.

Yours,

I tried the .fxe version just now, and with PC-Link it gives the SMC error. Does this mean the european FW expects a different directory layout on the SMC?

I haven't tested it with the Pc-Link software yet, though. Does the BLU Install CD include such a program?

Strange, but the GP32blu firmware number is 1.6.6 when the latest beta from gamepark is already 1.6.7. Can anyone with a GP32 Blu check what version actually is installed ? (to do this just pres L button R button R L RR LL on Play/PC Link screen)
