Unfortunately, yes, it is broken. You should always use new batteries when flashing because if it turns off during a flash, it will break it. It can be fixed with a JTAG cable somehow (i don't know how), mr spiv used to fix them but now he doesn't. Perhaps if you ask him very very nicely he will do it for you or tell you how to do it yourself. Have a search through this forum, there are a few other people who have had the same problem, maybe one of them can help.
Edit: Beat me to it!

its not realy dead
buy you have amde a currupt flash, that means that the firmware is deletet, you cant do anything without a firmware.
but you can uplaod a new formware with a jtag cable (www.cobbleware.com).

and why is your flash faild? have you turnd it off? have you used old batterys?

yes! it sucks!

after i flashed mine i couldn`t copy files over to my gp via my usb cable so i had to buy a card reader writer. it sucks but its gp get uset to it. its like a computer lotsa disapointment and lotsa errors but u will figure it uot after a while and it will be well worth the money u spend on it over even if it is 200 euro

so dont bitch about it!

( i was really sad when chrono trigger didnt run smoothly before opensnes9x got out ;) )

You only have to use the JTAG cable once, then everything is OK. Your GP32's BIOS (code that initalizes everything and makes it ready) is corrupted, and JTAG is the only way to fix it. You could (1) Make a JTAG cable (2) Buy it from someone who will make it for you (3) Send the GP32 to someone with a JTAG, and give them some money.

Attempting Itialian translation (I can speak it pretty well, but spelling is horrible ;))

I know that it looks horrible ;)

This is why, if you read the read me's, and the warnings before you download and run the app, you will notice there is always large warnings about flashing your bios. You do it at your own risk.

If your power supply is interupted during the proccess, the flash will not finish, leaving you with a partially flashed bios. And since the bios is not full and working because it didnt complete, you have no way to run the flash program again to flash your bios. For this you need to use your PC, and the only way to accomplish this is via a jtag cable. www.cobbleware.com has instructions on how to make one if you are electronically adept or know someone who is.

When you flash, make sure you use a wall plug or brand new batteries; "good enough" batteries are not. Dont trust any batteries that are not 100% fresh.

Always TEST new batteries for a while before you attempt the flash too. I have had a few times (very rare) when even new batteries were faulty. I would suggest playing something for a few minutes, If you notice any flicker in the screen change batteries. Also open the battery door on the back and make sure the batteries are making FULL contact with the terminals and are not off center at all. When the process is in place don't move the unit until it is finished.

Or use an AC adapter. Batteries will only be used if you cut the power to it (and you'd be pretty stupid to do that while doing something as critical as flashing).
