Best Commodore64 Emulator

Am I being an imbecile or am I correct when i'm saying that neither Rocket Raid, or Moon Raider, have the word 'Challenge' in them.

One thing that's confused me about C64 emulation.

With ZX Spectrum emulation, even TAP files can have their loading times COMPLETELY cut down with instant load.

Why can't the same be done with the C64? You have to actually have it loading at proper C64 speed for anything to work...

... and before anyone jumps down my throat, I know they ran at 33MHz of something so an emulator would be extremely unlikely... B)
The first Archimedes run with an ARM2 at 8 MHz.
The first Archimedes at 33 MHz was the A5000 ( ARM3 ).

You are 100% correct, but I can't think of any similar games with the word 'challenge' in them :D

erm?... Did you ever have a C64? I think you'll find the load times are drastically improved

I can't claim to have had one.

I did however have a ZX Spectrum, and i'm just wondering why C64 emulation has to have loading times while ZX Spectrum emulation doesn't. At all. Regardless of image format.

Hi

Did a bit of digging and I think that Beeb game was called "Challenger" by Mastertronic. I can't find a screenshot though and I don't seem to be able to load the .IMG file with Horizon, but I found the cover art...

...also on the C64 front, the GP32 Frodo is actually better than any of the emulators I have for my main computer! The same is also true for Atari ST, which the GP32 seems to do much better than my computer can. Wierd.
