Now i have managed to get virtualdub to actually dub the movie, i ended up with the finished file, It was 1gb! How can i compress this so it can fit onto my 128mb SMC? Aaaaaaaaaaaahhh! this is really annoying me now! :(

are your sure you follwed the instructions correctly? i used the guide on gpemu for mine , http://faq.gp32emu.com/ with only one change . dont actually alter the frame rate to 9.99 or what ever but decimate the frame rate by a tenth of the original frame rate, eg if it was original 29.97 frame rate decimate by 3 or if it was 25.00 frame rate decimate by 2.51 just make sure it keeps the original frame rate at the top, otherwise it stretch the video longer rather than keep the same length the same length , best to try a short video first so you can fiddle with the options , also you might want to lower your audio quality or alter to mono as this with half the size of the audio, hope its of use, even with the above i only seem to get 75% success rate so i think the orignal video source sometimes affects the outcome as well,

I used gpemu instructions and it worked perfectly. I had videos of either 29.97 or 30 fps, decimated by 3. Used 44100 Hz video, 11500 Hz audio with 18-24 bitrate. Basically I followed the settings at that guide, however the conversion tends to have a higher success rate with shorter videos.

ps. golgotha your avatar just winked at me

You are actually compressing your file with the divx 4.12 codec right?, cause a file that big sounds like it could be an uncompressed AVI file, anyway if you still can't get virtual dub to work try using Movielink, which can be downloaded free from entware, and is much easier to use, though not quite as good
